I'm not here to knock anyone or make any disparaging remarks against anyone, but as I sit back and read thread after thread about how bad the JETS coaching staff, front office, how bad Chad is the defense is, yada, yada, yada, so on and so forth.

I am ASTONISHED how most (JETS fans) anointed Mangini as the 2nd coming of Vince Lombardi just a year ago and how during THIS Pre-season, a LARGE portion of the 'JETS FAITHFUL' (tongue in cheek), were willing to say how bad a season the JETS were going to have from 8 - 8 to worse and now I am seeing all these posts with people crying, bitching, moaning and groaning about how bad a team this is.

Is NO ONE surprised, that the JETS are 1 - 3 after all the threads proclaiming how bad a team this was going to be, even BEFORE the pre-season began?

I mean, really, VERY FEW people, thought this team would win more than 8 games so why all the complaining and crying and nasty threads? This is what most people asked for so go with the flow

Now you ALL know I'm just playing Devil's advocate here, I mean the old saying, watch what you wish for because you JUST MAY GET IT. If you keep thinking Same Ol' JETS, well, thats JUST what you'll get.

I have faith Mangini can turn it around, call me an Idealist but ummm, we've done better with WORSE teams and a coaching staff that DOES NOT pay attention to detail like this coaching staff plus the Ravens and Bills games should have been WINS, but coulda, woulda, shoulda, doesn't place digits in the W column, this team is NOT as bad as some of us make them out to be.

    I know I'm a 'SUNSHINER' here we go...

A loss to the Bills is always tough. And even harder when they have the 32nd offense, 32nd defense and are crap.

Don’t be astonished – those of us not in favor of hiring a ball boy for our head coach kept it to ourselves last year and hoped for the best.

Now we are looking at unimaginative, vanilla game plans that give us little or no opportunity to win a game and it’s nauseating.

Looking at the scores and highlights from around the league – it is entirely possible that this team aside from Miami is absolutely the worst team in football.

Traditionally – successful coaches although may struggle in the beginning somewhat seldom manage to make themselves look like total fools; a 3 – 13 season is the beginning of the end for a coach whether it’s his 2nd season or his 14th. After a 3 – 13 season even the most loyal will cease to buy into the “system”.

After the end of last season I thought we would have a better year, but seeing them in pre-season, they looked like nothing had change. KC was better then Chad in the pre-season. Chad is predictable because of his ability not to spread the defense. I guess we are all tired of seeing the samething and no adjustments being made. Yes, it's the whole team, but we can't bench the defense and bring in a brand new one.

After seeing the Pats dismantel the Bengals so easily last night, no one's going to beat them anyways.

But, if the Jets were caught cheating, they would of made them forfit the whole season.

Well, my position in this is as follows:

Yes, I started with a 9-7 prediction, adjusted to 2-14 after the preseason (in a half joking manner), and honestly believe we'll win 6 this year.

Yeah, I have low expectations, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. We're playing totally uninspired football. Losing 10+ games is one thing, but obviously taking a few steps backward on both sides of the ball (and even on special teams) is unacceptable.

I don't mind losing. We've done it for so long I'm numb to the pain. However, when we look like we're actually getting worse, I can't stomach that. If we see progress, that's good enough for me. I believed in the 3-year plan. But it's about to be a quarter of the way into year 2, and we look at least as bad as when Herm left town. Except this time, everyone is healthy, so there's no excuse.

exactly my point, we are the one's with all the healthy players and we lose to the Bills and almost lost to the Dolphins.

The only people anointing Mangini were those who chose to overlook that the team was healthy last year and playing the easiest schedule in the NFL. The alarm should have set in when we lost to Cleveland but didn't for most of them.

I have not given up on Mangini. Its just that he has married himself to Noodle arm and now is going to be the stubborn jet coach that we all hate. I can not enjoy watching my team play when I have not faith in the QB.

What do you like about the Jets? You dislike the QB, your earlier posts said you do not like the CS, seriously what do you like about the Jets. Your in Tampa, join the Bucs bandwagon along with all the other fair weather fans in FL.

Not really a sunshiner. I sorta feel the same way. We are not playing up to our abiltity, especially on defense. I am not saying we should be ranked in the top 5, but we are definitely capable of being in the top 15. We do not belong at 25 or something, but we have earned it by the way the D has been playing.

??? I'm sorry but er ummm, this is my 1st thread in over a year, so what might you be talking about ???

I'm asking a simple question, if the expectations were so low for the JETS, why all the bitching and moaning?

It's just amazing to me that although quite a few thought the JETS would flame out and stink the place up, we have so many threads filled with how badly this team sucks, if many of you 'KNEW' the JETS where gonna be bad, then oh well deal with it.

I honestly could care less to sit around and have an 'ulcer' over a team although I love them, because they are either NOT playing up to expectations, or playing as 'expected'.

If the JETS turn it around cool, if not oh well, I guess when other more pressing things in this world are going on a 'sports' teams is the 'LEAST' of my worries.

Will I celebrate every victory? Damn skippy, will I pour gasoline all over myself teetering on a ledge with a match in one hand and a gun in the other because they lose? Hell no, because at the end of the day, it's just damn game.

Just my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions.

And um yes I do happen to think it's a 'BRILLIANT' post when more than 2/3 of the posts are people on the verge of committing suicide, its time for someone to put things in perspective'.

Whatever happens to this team, how are ANY of us benefiting from it? This is a form of 'entertainment'. some of our beloved fans are a little too 'manic' and quit 'obsessive' about it, sort of along the lines of Chris Crocker.

Which one of you is going to sit in front of the cam, in the dark, putting on mascara, under a sheet talking about how bad the JETS are and how badly you want Herm and Hackett back?

Give it a rest there's 12 more games, if the JETS for some reason turn it around I cannot WAIT to see how many people jump on the Mangenious, Tangini wagon.

If they 'CONTINUE' to stink the spot up then o k, you were right but 12 more weeks of boo hooing and griping is too much, some on here need to man up and let it go, whatever is going to happen is going to happen, build a bridge and get over it.

I'm still with Mangini. There is no such thing as an easy schedule in the NFL. The 10-6 season we had last year was quite an accomplishment.

The 1-3 start truly sucks. We have the talent to beat average teams, and we should be 3-1. Now comes the time when we see what kind of coach Mangini really is.

He MUST force Sutton to switch to a 4-3 defense. Yes, he traded up to get Harris, who is only going to work as a run stuffing ILB in a 3-4 defense, but he is useless to us until we have a 350 pound 3-4 NT.

At this point he has no choice but to give Clemens a shot. On top of being 5 years older, everything about Chad has changed since 2002. He doesn't throw perfect spirals anymore. He is afraid to throw down the field unless receivers are wide open. He no longer hits slant routes in stride, so YAC is no longer his friend, while exposing his receivers ribs to huge hits is common. And we have to face it, his once adequate arm is no longer strong enough.

My guess is Woody will stick with Mangini for 2-3 more years even if he doesn't turn things around, so I hope he starts making changes, soon.

How long will Chad last against the GMen's 12 sack onslaught?

ANSWER THIS: If the GMen are GETTING OFF and having another huge "kill the QB game", and they knock Chad out early, DO YOU PUT CLEMENS INTO THE GAME, and risk loosing BOTH QB's?

Has that even happened before? Ya know, where a team looses BOTH 1st and 2nd QB in the same game? How much would that suck?
