how is there nobody complaining about the hit that knocked him out of the game last week? i dont know which lineman it was from the patriots but the play looked to be VERY intentional to me. hit him with his elbow right on the side of the knee. its also looking like larry johnson is not too happy with sperm edwards, but hey thats a whole other conversation.
It was Wilfork. It appears that the Pats have taken all the heat they are gonna take this year post spygate and are now immune.
It was Vince Wilfork and I agree, it did look like he left his elbow extended as he rolled into him. But, he was probably intentionally trying to hit him, not injure him.
sorry about putting the topic in the wrong place, i only did so as we are playing the jills this week. yeah i saw it last night and said hmmm then saw it again today and couldnt believe people werent freaking out about it. the bills certainly had a rough day with that injury and the broken arm to posluzny (no chance i spelled that right)
I was thinking the same thing actually. I thought after the hit on Carson Palmer they outlawed hitting at the QBs knees.
I've seen the play. While the defenders would like to suggest that a 345 pound man doesn't stop of a dime, Wilfork clearly lunged toward Losman. Why, I'll never know. But he did.
On Patsfans they were saying Wilfork beat a lineman and then got pushed into the backfield. I have not seen that but the video I've seen Wilfork is going down to the ground and then throws his arm out into Losman's leg. It did look like he was trying to hit him on purpose there. It's tough to say but if it was Brady getting hurt you can bet the Patriots fans would be crying a river.
Ya think? "Everybody's doing it", but if their guy does it, he really wasn't. See, Wilfork was thinking about lunch, and he forgot himself and thought he was flipping a burger with a long spatula on his patio grill. No harm done.
They did... But as we've seen, these rules (horse collars, hitting the QB low, etc) apply to all teams not owned by Robert Kraft...
(sigh) Was Wilfork trying to knock him down? Maybe, I think so. Was he trying to hurt Losman? Give me a break. This is JP Loserman we're talking here. The guys sucks, he is no threat. There is NO WAY Wilfork was trying to hurt him, because there is NO REASON for it. The Pats would beat Buffalo ten times out of ten, on Buffalo's best day...and Losman is probably one of the ten worst QB's in the game, to this point. It's one thing to want to throw stones at the Pats, but this is just another absurdityu which demonstrates that you all know little or nothing about the Pats or even football strategy.
Does anyone have a vid? I didn't see it myself but my friend who is a Bills fan told me it looked dirty. I believe it last years playoff game Seau went @ Chad's knee...also Wilfork picked up Washington and threw him to the ground after the whistle....Pats are Dirty Cheaters we all know this
im having trouble finding the video myself. i originally saw it on espn in the highlights on sportscenter. i know if chad took a hit like that i would be heated about it and i really am surprised that nothing has come out of buffalo about the play. at least not that i have heard. take it easy pats fan over there, im just saying that it looked dirty and that i am surprised that nobody has complained at all about it. yes jp losman is not good, no that didnt secure the win for the patsies. however in my eyes it was a dirty hit and would have been a dirty hit no matter what teams were involved. so please get off your high horse thinking that everyone is out to get your favorite team, the main factor in the 2 teams that it was is that the jets are playing the bills this week. oh yeah btw do you know who andre tippett is? if you cant tell me without looking it up your opinion doesnt matter to me.
Wilfork should get fined for the hit. Anything less is a disgrace. It's just like the helmet to helmet hits you see. No one does it on purpose, but they still get the fine.
From what I have seen, and I saw it several times, but the camera angles are not great on this play, it looks like Wilfork was going down, pushed from behind or tripped. As he went down, his forearm/elbows extended and caught Losman in the knee. Was it intentional? it's honestly difficult to tell. If you are falling down, whether pushed from behind or grabbed by the legs, wouldn't you extend your arm to break your fall? It's instinct. Did Wilfok extend a little extra to intentionally hit Losman? Honestly, I think there is no way to tell that from the video, but he may have. I think it was unintentional, but should be fined nonetheless. Where intent cannot be determined, I think the league needs to levy the fine anyway, to discourage this sort of thing. As for intentionally trying to injure Losman, I think that would be an absurd accusation.
Just a note: This was exactly the same argument people initially used for why the Pats couldn't have been spying on opposing teams.
