http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...one-year-suspension-for-browns-wr-josh-gordon More than three months after reports surfaced that the NFL was suspending Browns receiver Josh Gordon for a year for violating the substance abuse policy, the league upheld that suspension Tuesday. “I'd like to apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Cleveland Browns organization and our fans," Gordon said in a statement through the NFLPA. "I am very disappointed that the NFL and its hearing office didn't exercise better discretion and judgment in my case. I would like to sincerely thank the people who have been incredibly supportive of me during this challenging time, including my family, my agent, my union, my legal team, and the Cleveland Browns staff.” Notice this line in Gordon's statement: "I am very disappointed that the NFL and its hearing office didn't exercise better discretion and judgment in my case."
It was a legitimate appeal. He just had too much baggage on top of this test to sway it in his favor. He will be back next year.
He's suspended for a Calender year, not 16 games. If the decision came sooner, then he would be able to attend TC.
He can apply for reinstatement, however he has not done that yet so at this time it's a full calender year suspension.
well - yeah technically I guess. He will be definitely reinstated before training camp next year though. Not only do they always reinstate but they wouldn't hold it against him that they took so long to decide on his appeal
More than likely, I believe he has psychological problems, I am assuming he has some sort of depression/anxiety or something, thats why he does not find football important which is ashame.
I dont think so, but you might be right. Some people do become so dependent on this stuff that even millions of dollars doesnt make a difference to em.
