99.9% of free agents go to the team that offers them the most cash. Runyon turns down our offer to play for us and stays with the Eagles who offered him LESS! He SAYS it's because he wants to be closer to his family in Philly. What a bunch of crap. We're not talking about Oakland here. It's NEW YORK! So he has to travel 2 hours to get to his family???? Bullshit. Only the Jets would lose out on a guy they offer more money to. It's so sickening.
Don't have the link, but it was just reported on NFL Network. Runyon got a BETTER offer from us and declined. He's already signed an extention with Philly.
!@#$ i thought we're going to sign this guy !@#$ god %^&* #$$% #@!@ i am so pissed but i still dont belive it lol. i am sure you are right but i need a link and so i guess we are going to sign that hopkins guy or we'll gte a RT in the Draft
If we sign him people complain that he too old and another castoff. When he gets away people complain of what shouldve been. Some people just live to complain
That's not exactly the first time a player has shopped around a deal and then gone back to his old team. Jets fans shouldn't read anything into this as it's obvious that Runyan had no intention of leaving Philly. He just wanted to get them to pay him a little more money and used the Jets and a couple of other teams to get his payday. He could have helped but that's the way it goes sometimes and there's nothing the Jets brass could have done to change this outside of offering to ridiculously overpay him and I think it's smart that they didn't try.
Ok if your 33 years old and about to sign your last contract what do you do. Do you take the most money and sign with a team in complete rebuilding mode or do you take a little less to stay with the same team that you have been playing with and try to win a championship before you retire. If its me, I'm taking a little less to compete for a championship. I would get your point if he just chose another team altogether for less money.
You're not understanding me very well, 1028. Let me try to make it clear to the mentally challenged....I don't give a rats ass if Runyon plays for us or not. The POINT IS: THE GUY TOOK LESS MONEY NOT TO PLAY WITH US. This is unheard of for a free agent. But to the JETS this kind of humiliation is reality.
Unheard of for a free agent??? yea ok buddy.... it happens ALL the time, especially for an aging veteran that has been settled in for a while
Congratulations! It's your first day being a Jets fan!* *if it wasn't, stuff like this wouldn't surprise you
This is so retarded. The guy has been on the Eagles for that last six years, his family is in Mt. Laurel which is 15 min from the stadium the eagles play at (a suburb of philly), he is at the tail end of a long career, he is comfortable. Not all football players put money in front of being with their families, and if you really think that, then you are the mentally challenged one.
