Cue several sarcastic "omg now we're 100% to win the SB" replies: So far jets have got: S Jamie Thompson, Oklahoma State WR Dequan Mobley LB Brian White, Virginia TE Bryan Watje, San Jose State QB Stacey Tutt, Richmond RB Ryan Gilbert, Houston DE Brennan Schmidt, Virginia TE Joe Kowalewski, Syracuse DE Will Thompson, Georgia OLB Craig Bailey, Nevada RB DonTrell Moore, New Mexico DE Darrell Adams, Villanova LB Blake Costanzo, Lafayette OT Ed Blanton, UCLA P DJ Fitzpatrick, Notre Dame
Fair enough, I might have been lying (not sure why I would though!) Its on the Notre Dame unoffical website.. "Notre Dame had just three draft picks this year in Fasano, Stovall, and Stevenson, but another six signed free agent deals shortly after the Draft. .......DJ Fitzpatrick (Jets)..." http://www.uhnd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1146462664&archive=&start_from=&ucat=5 As well as now on the "draftdadd" UDFA signings page: http://www.draftdaddy.com/Blog/blog.cfm
i woulda like to see th jets take a look at the linebackers Hoye or Mays. those guys play well for us last year. powers-neal i bet you he makes the team in denver. guy is football player.
i don't think that's why they signed him, probably just to give his leg a rest in camp and maube this guy can Ko as we may not a KO specialist.
So competing with Nugent for KO duties? I was hoping Nugent had been doing some stellar weight work on his legs in the off season so he would be able to do that.
Wsthoff said he could strenghten Nugent's leg on KO's but that's not a guarantee. I'm just throwing it out there, the only reasons he would be brought in are for rest for Graham in TC or to try to get the KOS job.
Any info on these signings? Got this on Blanton: Ed Blanton Grade: 3.05 Position: T Class: 5Sr School: UCLA Conference: Pacific-10 Ht., Wt.: 6-8, 345 40 Time: 5.52 Grading System BIO: Three-year starter at both the left and right tackle positions. Earned All-Conference consideration as a senior. POSITIVES: King-sized blocker with growth potential. Walls defenders from the play, displays good hand punch and extends to keep opponents away. Plays with a wide base, patient and steers opponents from the action. Gets movement from run blocks, turning opponents off the ball. NEGATIVES: Lacks balance and blocking range. Marginally strong for his size and does not finish blocks. Exploited by quick, nimble opponents. ANALYSIS: Consistent and durable on the college level, Blanton has an NFL body for the strong-side tackle position yet must take his game to another level for any chance of playing on Sundays. PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2006/draft/players/47942.html
 manigini is the one who discovered him and brought him here to begin w/ and after waht he did last year I'm sure Eric is still high on him.
