i know that all teams face injury problems but it seems as though the past couple of seasons have been much worse than the jets are used to. like whomever they hired after the whole alosi thing might not be doing as well of a job keeping these guys healthy week to week. it just seems that the past couple of seasons everybody has been battling some injury. a lot of soft tissue injuries too maybe im crazy but i think the jets need to make some changes in this area to try and keep guys on the field
Revis - knee. Holmes - Lis Franc. Hill - knee two years running. Slauson - torn pectoral (I think, might have been a shoulder). Kerley - concussion, hyper-extended elbow. Barnes - knee. Winslow - suspension. It's true that there have been a bunch of significant absences the last couple of seasons but it's not like those have been conditioning type absences. The one counterpoint is all the hamstrings in both camps. Maybe the Jets need to do a better job of maintaining player fitness in the off-season. On the other hand maybe the new CBA doesn't allow for that.
times have changed, thankfully.... the days of training staffs that sent seriously concussion damaged great players like Al Toon and Wayne Chrebet right back out onto the field after another head hit which they described as a "ding" are OVER forever Any "fan" genius wishing for a return to those glorious days of yesteryear is YES crazy
Get used to it, but only for a little while. This is the kind of stuff that got him previously banned from TGG. This is the kind of stuff that just got him banned at Jets Insider. And it's the kind of stuff that will get him banned again here. _
true but i cant help but see some correlation between the team being relatively strong before alosi was let go to the utter shit show of pulled hammys and ankle sprains that we see out there today and its possible that the training regiment could be unintentionally hard on the players ligaments, which could impact more severe injuries.
I am of the opinion that loosing Alosi was a significant factor. As Br4Dw4 points out, some injuries are unavoidable regardless of the level of conditioning, but my sense is that Alosi brought that tough, football specific training regime with heavy doses of stretching and weight/cardio/agility conditioning on and off season that has really paid major dividends at UCLA.
I don't think you're crazy at all. I totally agree. That said, there have been a ton of injuries league-wide this year. I think that can directly be attributed to the change in practice rules eliminating two-a-days and practicing in pads only 2 days a week. The players pushed for this and they are the one who is paying the price. Ironic isn't it?
...and in other news.... 'cuz' is a she?....no handicaps? I don't see any problem... :-o Speaking of 'family' ..... a 15-yr. old kid accidentally walks in on his dad banging his mom. The enraged father grabs a book from the night table and fires it at the kid's head: "what did I say about coming in without knocking?!!...get the hell out of here!!!" An hour later, the dad walks by his son's bedroom and hears a woman passionately moaning behind the closed door. He enters and finds his son furiously drilling his grandmother. The shocked dad roars: "what the hell do you think you are doing?!!!" whereupon the kid--without missing a beat--turns and sneers:"oh yeah...but it's ok for you to fuck MY mother!"
There seems to be an unusually high amount of injuries this year across the board compared to others. This doesn't seem like a Jets specific issue.
