Strange How Revis has started both games, and not only doesnt have a tackle, he doesnt have a pass defensed even after i remember the one he almost picked off yesterday....
Barrett is not the problem on this team at the moment. The problem is no pass rush. Barrett actually has always been a decent #2 CB. He can cover the guys who aren't major burners. When he's matched up against a TJ Houshmandzadeh possession type receiver he can handle his assignment. When he's put on Chad Johnson he's toast. That's just the way it is. The problem is that there are a growing number of teams that have two receivers that both require a #1 CB to cover. The Colts, Patriots and Broncos are all very tough to matchup against unless both of your corners have 4.4 speed. That kind of limits how effective Barrett will be in the end of season game.
plus he bounced one off his helmet...is there a line for that? the most glaring stat (without looking at those) is that the defense hasnt forced 1 turnover in 2 games. this is as glaring a deficiency as the offensive lines blocking and the lack of a pass rush.
well no turnovers, and as far as I remember, we havent forced a fumble or even dropped an INT so it's not like we aren't capatilizing on opportunities, we arent even creating opportunities...
Hah ha just took another look at the stats, and our total number of passes defensed, it says we have 7, and it says that Barret has 2 Barton has 1 and Hobson has 1. and those are the only ones listed with a defensed pass... last time I checked 4 was not equal to 7... starting to wonder how reliable these stats are.
He absolutely should, because it was his speed that got him there. That was no question a defended pass. Any prior Jets corner in recent years just wouldn't be close enough to the receiver to cause the ball to be incomplete. We would have to hope for a bad throw or a drop.
