I don't think it is necessarily a "no brainer", but I think it is a move that in te short term would look like we gave up alot, but down the road it would be well worth it.

I really hope we make the move for Matt Leinart. I wouldn't be suprised if the Saints and Jets have already had preliminary discussions on a trade.

If we were to pick up a QB with #4 I'm not sure that we should go with Matt he was on a team with so much talent that he might not be a good as he looked or be able to handle the pressure. I would go with Young or Cutler instead

Matt can't handle pressure? That must be a joke.

That's not what you said though...

From listening to your opinion it makes me believe you haven't watched enough games Matt has played in...the guy is a legit NFL QB...

I think he's saying leinart might not respond well when he has to be THE guy. Which i agree is a crock.

My point is that alot of QBs that have come from big colleges with really really good team at the time that they were there dont do well in the NFL I have only watch 4 maybe 5 games that USC played in so I am making a general statement

This is exactly the question I have about Matt is can he handle the pressure. Obviously, when you play fake to Bush or White defenses have to respect the fake. Also, nearly every USC lineman is pro caliber as well as the wideouts. He may do great but I don't know. Cutler had lesser talent around him and Croyle suffered 11 sacks in one game! There is film to see how they handled adversity.

No way we should trade up. We can get a QB next year when we have a clearer indication of what Ramsey and Chad can do. This year we should adress the o-line!!

I have to agree with jake on this one. I want the team rebuilt in the trenches first and then next year we can get our qb.

We can still address the Oline if we draft a QB at 4 or via a move up...that is one of the biggest assumptions on this board...just because we draft a QB doesn't mean we are going to ignore the Oline...

Trading up indicates that the conseensus is that Matt Leinart is the only Qb who is worth a hill of beans. That is idiotic. Cutler is good and Young is good. We are at #4. We are gauranteed to get a QB if that is what we want. Trading up, IMO would be stupid and wasteful.

I have studied film of Cutler. His pass delivery reminds me a lot of Namath's. He has a fast release gun. His footwork is generally pretty good. HE has to be developed a bit, but there is a heck of a lot there to work with.

I have looked at Young, too. Tremendous athlete. Good arm strength and high mobility. The wunderlic deal is a concern, but that does not necessarily translate into pooor on the field performance.

Whether it is Cutler, Young, or Leinart they ideally need to be groomed a while before seeing big league play. I see us as getting a quality QB in either case.

Plus, who says we have to get a QB this year. We are not making a miraculous run at the SB. We could get Super Mario. We get a solid DE and someone who could make us forget Abraham very quickly. Or go AJ Hawk.

We could trade down and go after a running back. There are so many options available.

If we do trade up, the only thing that is worth it, is trading up for Bush. Anything else is wasteful. I do not think that is necessary, though.

    We sit at #4.

I have said in the past I have no problem with us staying at 4 and taking Cutler.

However, if we made a move for Leinart it doesn't mean we think Leinart is the only one worth it...it just means thats who the Jets think fits best into their future plans...

I like Cutler and alot and I have voiced that before.

Matt at 2 and Cutler at 4 are both smart moves.

If we stay at 4 then we might have Mangold available to us with the 29th pick. I like those odds, too.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AT THE #4 spot we can take the best player available the top 5 or 6 players all address our needs and any combo will be a great addition .... of course everybody will complain no matter what or who we pick
    D'Brick
    Williams
    Cutler
    Hawk
and Bush (longshot).................What do you think?

ND was overrated last year and are you talking about the play where Bush carried Matt and the ball into the end zone for a touchdown?
Texas beat USC last year because Bush didnt have a great game.
