Rich Cimini New York Daily News Rookie RCB Drew Coleman has won the starting job from Justin Miller. Coleman makes fewer mental mistakes than Miller and is more fundamentally sound. Miller is a poor tackler and is not disciplined in pass coverage. SPOTLIGHT MATCHUP: The bulk of responsibility for covering Browns TE Kellen Winslow will fall to SS Kerry Rhodes, who is tall, athletic and probably quick enough to play corner in a pinch. Winslow hasn't been much of a vertical threat but has the talent to break out at any time. OFFENSIVE SYSTEM CHECK: Rookie coordinator Brian Schottenheimer likes to run gadget plays. Many involve rookie Brad Smith, who has lined up at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, and QB Chad Pennington, who has popped up at flanker and running back. Schottenheimer is different from his father, Marty Schottenheimer, who is known for being conservative.
I wouldnt really call them gadget plays. We have seen many (if any) flea flickers, half back option passes -- both which are fine with me. He uses his personnel in a way to make the other team think. For example, he put Graham under center yesterday -- to try to draw the other team offside -- or have them waste a time out. The commentator said -- thats all it could be. I disagree -- you go into that formation 10 times -- and let the time run and take the delay -- then the 11th time -- this year (or next) -- you actually run a play from it. I think the CS has done a very good job in setting other teams up. As we know, each team watches and analyzes EVERY SINGLE PLAY. http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=644321n (This should be the right link)
