Cant find a thread on this....so i'll start one. What do you think the roster will look like on opening day. I think it will go something like this.... QB- Pennington FB - Barnes RB - Jones WR - Coles WR - Cotchery TE - Baker LT - Ferguson LG - Kendall(if he stops bein gay) C - Mangold RG - Moore RT - Clement LE - Ellis DT - Robertson RE - Coleman LOLB -Hobson(unfortunately) ILB - Harris ILB - Vilma ROLB - Thomas CB - Dyson SS - Smith FS - Rhodes CB - Revis K - Nugent P - Graham KR - Miller PR - Revis
Revis will probably start out as the slot corner. If David Barrett continues the success that he had in minicamp through preseason will undoubtedly be the starting CB alongside Dyson. Why so down on Hobson? Do you have someone else you'd rather see there? Wadsworth? Chatham? Bowens? Barton? Come on the guy had 100 tackles, 6 sacks and an interception. Has earned every right to be starting this year.
hobson had a career year last year and is just hit his prime years as an OLB- the Thomas/Hobson duo was the reason for any pressure on the QB last year with some ellis and D-Rob every now and then from the D-Line. Hobson is a staple on this team.
Agreed, Hobson had a good year. The position could stand to be upgraded, but he's solid in the new scheme.
While it may be fun to predict the "starters", I almost think it doesn't matter. They'll be using so many personnel substitution packages, etc., I think that who starts is of pretty little significance. I think we're going to see some pretty wild stuff--especially on defense.
What do you mean by "stops being gay?" Some people might take offense to that. just playin' man. hobson's solid, though a bit inconsistant. he'll be better this year.
i dont see Harris starting over Barton. He will probably just relieve Vilma and Barton in the middle when they need a break. It would be nice if Revis outplayed Barret in minicamp and preseason, but barret will probably start atleast the first half of the season imo. but i like the Coleman over Kimo call, hes soooo slow.
i cant wait to see hobson line up with harris.....thats a nice run-stuff duo! i dont think harris will upend barton as the starter this year though....so many intricacies and nuances to be learned on defense. he will prob be used on running downs most likely... hobson deserves every right to be our starter....the guy is solid. hes played well within the system, and he will only get better the more acquainted he is with it.
Guy had more interceptions than Coleman and didn't even start a game. Definitely gonna be a good camp battle though.
Agreed. My opinion of Hobson was totally changed after last season, he earned a spot in the starting roster imo. I expect him to get even better.
I know that we have taken tis thread to the D side of the ball, but I hope that the management is impressed with our OB situation. Brady would have been a nice selection, I hope our two picks are starters on day one.
