Jets | QB spot up for grabs
    Fri, 5 May 2006 09:37:58 -0700

NewYorkJets.com reports New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum has declared the race for team's starting quarterback position wide open. "Ultimately Chad Pennington could play, Patrick Ramsey could play, Brooks Bollinger, (Kliff) Kingsbury could play, a draft pick could play. Competition will put the best player on the team," said Tannenbaum.

Jets | Mangold to compete for starting spot

    Fri, 5 May 2006 09:34:41 -0700

NewYorkJets.com reports the New York Jets C Eric Mangold is expected to compete for the starting center position against veteran C Trey Teague. Mangold may also compete for playing time at the guard position. "He's going to give us great competition at a couple spots, both center and guard," said head coach Eric Mangini

Jets | Ferguson to start right away
    Fri, 5 May 2006 09:12:28 -0700

NewYorkJets.com reports the New York Jets have penciled first-round draft pick OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson as the team's starter at offensive left tackle in 2006. Last year's starting left tackle, OT Adrian Jones, will likely man the right side. "Right now Adrian Jones is a tackle, but he can play left tackle," said head coach Eric Mangini. "To have two left tackles on the roster, with both having the flexibility to play right tackle, gives us a lot of versatility."

Jets | Team allocated rookie salary cap pool
    Thu, 4 May 2006 22:34:19 -0700

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the National Football League allocated the New York Jets $6,631,295 million under the 2006 rookie salary cap pool, according to a source with access to NFL Players Association salary data.

Jets | Bollinger could be expendable
    Thu, 4 May 2006 05:40:49 -0700

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets may have to consider trading or releasing QB Brooks Bollinger, who is scheduled to make $500,000 in base pay in the final year of his contract. General manager Mike Tannenbaum said Bollinger is not being shown the green door. "Stockpiling quarterbacks is good business," Tannenbaum said after the draft. "We have four quarterbacks on our active roster, and this is not to say any one of them is on the block or we're going to cut anyone. We now have better depth at the position." The four he referred to are QBs Chad Pennington, Patrick Ramsey, Bollinger and rookie QB Kellen Clemens. The first three are participating in the team's conditioning program. (Pennington will be ready to throw at a passing camp in late May and a full-squad minicamp in mid-June.) QB Kliff Kingsbury is also on the roster.

We all knew who they meant. Are you trying to say that KFFL shouldn't make mistakes?

Are you kidding me? KFFL puts out some of the most mind-bafflingly illiterate garbage in such a tiny paragraph sometimes, I often wonder if it's actually prison inmates making the updates.

They are supposed to be a leading source of football info for so many people, and yet their presentation speaks of laziness and incompetence.

I just want to have a good quarterback back there with a good offensive line. I think that would preety much make our offense.

I could care less. The fact of the matter is that they are putting out ALL of the NFL's information faster than any other website on the net.

That does not fill me with confidence that Chad will start. Last time he was rushed back into action , this time caution looks to be over-cautious. Surely he should have started to throw by now?

Wow thats some inside info.. I'm shocked who would have thought that Nick Mangold, a first round pick will compete for a starting spot.. Mind blowing.
