I'm almost always against trading up for a QB (as indicated in the Rams threads) but we're in an abnormal spot because we have a valuable asset that we probably need to get rid of in Wilkerson. If they can do that and get a QB they like at the same time it's killing 2 birds with 1 stone. But if they also dump too many draft picks in the process I'd hate it just as much as the Rams trade. I'd cap any offer for #2 at #20, Wilkerson and a 3rd. If I was the Browns, I wouldn't accept that but if I was the Jets I wouldn't offer any more.
http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=11284 Sources close to the situation tell me the New York Jets made a serious offer to the Tennessee Titans for the initial pick of the draft. Those with knowledge of the situation tell me the team was close to getting the deal done. I’m told it is believed veteran defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson was part of the deal. And while many in the New York area dismissed my initial report earlier this week over the New York Jets being dark horses for trading to the top of the draft, it was revealed within 24 hours of the report that Jared Goff would be making an official visit to the franchise. Goff won’t be make it past the fourth pick of the draft. Will the Jets continue to attempt to move up into the early reaches of round one? Sources tell me they believe so but much depends on who the Los Angeles Rams ultimately select with the first pick in two weeks time.
Sounds like a complete load of shit. Inquired maybe but serious? Highly doubtful. Mac isn't that dumb.
If by "serious offer" they mean Mo and our 1st and maybe a 3rd next year, then thats nothing compared to what the Rams gave up.
If we made that trade that the Rams made I would be so disappointed Can we please sign Mo instead of trading him too? That would be nice...
We have little amo to trade up.. The other team needs to A: love Wilkerson and B: be able to afford him. IMO the only option is to trade with #6 to grab Lynch because Wentz and Goff will go in the top 2. They need to jump in front of San Fran/Philly AND they need to be sold on Lynch. Ravens - Wilkerson + #20 Jets - #6 I'm not sure the Ravens do it and I'm not sure about Lynch 100%. So it's a tough deal to make.
