    Source: Taylor visiting with Jets

    http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5063035

Miami Dolphins free agent linebacker Jason Taylor, who became a television star on "Dancing With The Stars," is dancing with the New York Jets on Wednesday.

Taylor arrived in New York on Wednesday and is being heavily recruited by the Jets, according to a source. The Jets have been interested in signing Taylor since the start of free agency but didn't have the ability to sign him. Under the terms of the uncapped season, because the Jets made the AFC Championship Game, they had to lose a player to free agency be able to sign a player.

But last week's loss of free agent kicker Jay Feeley to the Arizona Cardinals met that requirement and started the process of the Jets recruiting Taylor, the last remaining unsigned Dolphins free agent.

The Jets will have competition for Taylor's services: The Dolphins are interested in re-signing him and the New England Patriots are also interested. So the Jets are planning an aggressive sales pitch. According to a source, part of the recruiting process includes a trip to the Jets' new stadium in the Meadowlands, where highlights of Taylor's career will be shown on the scoreboard.

Jets coach Rex Ryan's is interested in Taylor as a means of improving the team's pass rush. Calvin Pace led the Jets with eight sacks last season, but the Jets want to have a player with 10-sack potential to increase their team sack total of 32. The Jets had only 10 combined sacks from their outside linebackers last season.

Taylor, one of the best pass rushers of his era, has 127½ sacks during his 13-year NFL career. He was on the field for 80 percent of the Dolphins' sacks last season, collecting seven himself.

OMG... hard time rooting for him... but ultimately if he perfoms well I'm good with it... I certainly would prefer A. Thomas though...

I will honest to God turn my back on this team if they sign Taylor. The Jets signing him is them turning their backs on the fans.

Wow...just....wow. Didn't we go through this crap last off season, too. Might as well go after Adalius Thomas if we're looking for retreads. At least one who didn't call out the fan base. This is plain old fashioned ridiculous.

I hope we don't get him, I don't think he is a winning player BUT if we did sign him I'd have to root for him to do well to help our team. Hopefully we do not sign him though.
