Brian Bassett RT @Steiny31: I've learned the #Jets have serious interest in Bengals restricted free agent WR Andrew Hawkins, per source. 11:27AM EST http://www.nfl.com/player/andrewhawkins/2508097/careerstats
Why? a 5'7" smurf who has never done much and would cost us a pick? I'm sure they can get a late round pick that would be just as good.
Sounds like a great athlete with serious speed (4.34) and quickness . He can probably be an immediate contributor on special teams and maybe that explosive guy who can turn short passes into big gains that our offense needs. http://www.cincyjungle.com/2012/3/31/2916411/the-story-of-andrew-hawkins-pt-i
He's been a solid player so far in his career when he's had the chance. Wouldn't mind him on the right deal.
Looks like he can be a weapon even if the pocket breaks down which WILL happen if we don't upgrade the line..but this could be our guy without having to use our 1st rounder on Brandin Cooks. Seems like he was buried on the Bengals depth chart
I've always like Andrew. He won't be a #1 or #2, but he could be used in the slot and in four WR sets.
I'm all about it then. He has some real speed, has flashed when given the chance. I'd make him a reasonable offer, we depserately need some speed at WR. And he's got upside if you ask me. Anyone know if he can return kicks?
This guy is already turning 28 this week and whose football career has yet to get off the ground and you want to overlook a Brandin Cooks in favor of him?
I like Hawkins for what I have seen of him. As long as he is viewed as depth with upside which I think is the case he would be a nice addition.
Yes because Cooks will be gone by our second round pick and I don't think he warrants our first rounder...unproven against press coverage and top talent. It's not like he was running away from all of these Hawaii defensive backs
