I was just about to post this- I'm not too interested in this guy myself, I'd rather get a bigger fish.
B.Pool has gotten his bell rung a few too many times for my liking......no thanks. Jesus, Tanny....Atogwe is right there for the taking.....make it happen!!
He's a worse tackler then KR. In 71 games he's had 226 TOTAL tackles. In 80 games KR's has had 100 more tackles. They do have very similar numbers though-
yessir. But I trust Tanny to do whatever it takes to lock Atogwe up...if he indeed goes in that direction.
Sure they do, but are they going to want to sign a contract that includes the following language? "If Atogwe plays more then 5 games in St. Louis the entire Rams front office, coaching staff, and roster must participate in weekly donkey shows until the year 2025."
Pool does not seem like a great idea. We have 3 safeties right now, that's enough depth, we just need a starter. I don't think Pool can handle starting duties anymore with his concussion problems, he's worthless to us.
I liked Pool when he first came into the NFL, but he's never lived up to his potential and just seems like a big concussion/retirement risk. No thanks.
Pool's been a good player in the league, the only thing keeping him from a very decent contract is concussion issues. This is the sort of thing where, if the doctors clear him, you can probably pick him up on the cheap, and if he can actually play, he'd be a very nice addition to the secondary. That said, he doesn't make a particularly good depth signing, since I doubt that a player whos one concussion away from involuntary retirement would make a good special teams player, and reserve safeties typically do a lot of ST duty. It's probably worth noting that Pool set a Browns record with a 100 yard interception return in 2007, against the Baltimore Ravens. So if he's healthy, Rex Ryan will want him on board.
You can't judge a player's tackling ability by how many tackles they make... There are a lot more factors than the straight up numbers. Currently the top safeties are Leonhard, Smith, and Ihedigbo... All are SS types.. It couldn't hurt to bring in Pool for a small contract.
When you've taken that many shots to the head you can't be considered healthy. He's one more concussion away from retirement.
Brodney Pool isn't terrible idea, but isn't he an UFA? I doubt if he is willing to play at vets minimum.
You're right, but some can be judged on their stats. I agree though, if a player is known and respected they'll run plays just to try and avoid him. It is odd though that his and Kerry's stats are very similar.
