Just looking at the Jets thus far this season in terms of their second half performances: Week 1 - Jets 6 points (opponent 10) Week 2 - Jets 17 points (opponent 21) Week 3 - Jets 0 points (opponent 7) Week 4 - Jets 7 points (opponent 13) Week 5 - Jets 0 points (opponent 14) Week 6 - Jets 0 points (opponent 14) Week 7 - Jets 10 points (opponent 0) Week 8 - Jets 24 points (opponent 8) Week 9 - Jets 10 points (opponent 13) Week 10 - Jets 0 points (opponent 6) Week 11 - Bye Week 12 - Jets 7 points (opponent 12) Week 13 - Jets 7 points (opponent 17) Week 14 - Jets 14 points (opponent 0) Week 15 - Jets 3 points (opponent 21) Week 16 - Jets 3 points (opponent 14) Three things jump out: - Jets have scored more than 7 points in the second half 5 times in 16 weeks - Jets have outscored their opponents just three times in 16 weeks. To me this points to a failure in coaching more than anything else.
Yep, while our Defense is spotty with a very week secondary, this is team that is suppose to score....I don't want to hear about the Jets missing Decker, missing Marshall, etc...This is a offense that put up a lot of points last year and are together again...
Its not like the teams we play are tending to put up a ton of points against us themselves and so while the D isn't elite and the secondary is a glaring issue, the fault seems to sit much more with the other side of the ball.
Just updating this after this weeks debacle - that is now 7 second half points scored in the last 4 games Only Tampa Bay has a worse ranked offense than the Jets and Brady has throw for more TDs in 2 games than Fitz has managed all season. Also just read that Fitzpatrick has 0 touchdowns and 10 interceptions after halftime this year.
We are dead last in points. Dead last. And a bunch of teams have had a bye week. Must be Rex's fault for neglecting the offence lmao
And we thought Rex couldn't make halftime adjustments. This might be the biggest indictment of Bowles and this coaching staff.
updated for week 7 - first time the Jets have outscored their opponent in the second half this season
That damned Todd Bowles is the worst Qb in the league and everyone knows it. And the plays he calls on office are atrocious. Todd gets burned on deep passes, can't defend the crossing routes. My God, you'd think with the huge contract they gave Bowles, he'd be a much better team by now in his 2nd year. Fire Him!!
Robby just isn't what he has been hyped up as on this forum. At best he will be a career slot man, way too skinny. Peake has had issues holding onto the ball. Quincy disappears at times. We lack playmakers with decker out. Jalin Marshall has gone mia on offense since coming back. Teams figure out its all Marshall forte by halftime latest.
Aside from awful coaching by Bowles and Gailey and lack of adjustments especially by Bowles there is another common theme. Every team they've played to date has been against a good defense. Yes, Pitt is inconsistent on D being average some weeks and looking like world beaters other weeks but aside from that and the fact that Baltimore had a lot of injuries there isn't one avg defense they've played against to date. Under the Bowles regime there are two givens. 1) He has no clue how to make in-game or half-time adjustments. 2) They get beat by good defensive teams. That is an indictment on Bowles ability as a HC. Edit - I forgot to mention that Buffalo was missing a number of players on D as well when they played otherwise I think they lose that game too.
He leads the NFL with 6 drops, but isn't concerned. Aren't you proud? http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/10/why_jets_brandon_marshall_still_isnt_worried_about.html
The team has been a complete embarassment....We all know that.Part of me actually wants to see Clevland beat us
I can never fully root against the Jets...but the sooner we get to the Bryce Petty or Chistian Hackysack era the better...
