Right now it looks like only about 3 picks made the team out of 12. So my question back then and now was why not use some of those picks to trade up for players they liked better than the ones they selected. If you're watching the Giants game I know what you're thinking. It was rumored the Jets wanted Odell Beckham who today in his NFL debut looks like Superman.
Simple Answer: Idzik is a bum who has no idea what he's doing and is only good at math,I'm so tired of this inept front office,if we fire Rex this season that means a new coach witch means he gets a "mulligan" for his first losing season witch means ...ah fuck it.....i not even sure what to think about anything anymore, this orginization makes things so difficult
Oh stop the bullshit dude. Beckham is a rookie having a good game. Lets see if he can keep it up. Everytime a rookie has a good game, people dont need to say they should have drafted him. Stop it. And i'm a giants fan
Idzik isn't a bum but he shouldn't have drafted 12 guys. Pryor was a good pick at 18 but he might have been able to trade up for Beckham who it was rumored was the guy they really wanted. Ok he's a rookie having a great first game very true. But he looks like an impact player. Not only catching balls but drawing penalties . He's had more of an impact in less than a game than Pryor has all season.
It's clear that idzik is giving Rex the short end of the stick because dude put very little effort in maximizing this team's talent. Idzik wants to unload for his own coach and not the guy he wants out.
I don't agree with that. I think he wants to win with or without Rex. I just didn't like our draft. If he didn't want all of those picks trade out of this draft into next year. No draft day activities or deals by Idzik even though he had chips to play with:
Odell Beckham has Eli Manning throwing to him - we have Geno Smith - you aren't comparing like with like there. plus I don't kill idzik for not burning picks to trade up - isn't that what everyone on the board was killing Tanny for doing? but now all of a sudden its a recipe for success? all the Jets need is some luck drafting at the QB position - unfortunately we never get any (4 high draft picks spent on QBs since 2000 and every one a disappointment for one reason or another - either injury prone or terrible)
well the difference is we REALLY wanted "put on a pedestal prospect here" and now that position of said prospect here looks less than stellar in 4 weeks, we're fools for not going for that other guy and retrospectively we should have given everything for that guy. We say we want patience, but we can't handle what a patient approach to building a team looks like evidently.
WE GET IT. It was trash, just about every pick except Amaro. But Idzik will never be criticized on here, so you just gotta let it go lol
