"The Jets have donated $200,000.00 for a new synthetic field in Morristown. Thomas Ficarra, superintendent of the morris school district, said he and other school officials are extremely grateful to the New York Jets and the NFL for their generous support of our districts effort to renovate Morristown High School's Memorial Field."
They've also allowed Mark Sanchez to practice there recently and have allowed the Jets to bring in receivers and other personnel. He can't train at the Florham facility until tomorrow. Big win for the high school. They get an influx to the facilities AND they get to host a professional team.
interesting. seems like a pretty cool idea. when i first opened this up i said to myself why morristown and not one of the many other schools i am sure there are in the area. i hope this is not one of the well to do schools in one of the well to do towns in jersey. hopefully this went to a school in a town that really truely needed it. that will be the key factor in whether i really really like this or not.
In a few years when it needs to be replaced the property tax (ie school tax) payers will foot the bill...can't have anyone in public education without a pool, artificial turf and air conditioning, a hardship many could not endure. But a nice gesture.
Although the GIF is funny, you have been posting it in every thread. Let's save it for a better time before it gets old.
