Was this like the red, green, yellow thing they did with Sanchez? Red- no chances yellow- cautious green- free to take a chance
If the wristbands were supposed to clean up the two minute defense, they sure as shit didn't work very well down the stretch in Miami.
That is exactly what I was thinking reading the article. I thought they were going to start using them this week against the bills. I hope that it will start to pay off on Sunday. The funny thing is I used to talk shit on qbs wearing the band then Sanchez starting wearing one last year and now the defense my friends will never let me live this one down.
red green yellow.... isnt that the sign of the rainbow coalition, fags on parade.... you know all about that DOLFAG... dontcha........bitch ricky williams:finssuck:
Did you read the article? The colors have no significance, according to Thurman, who said they simply make it easier to read. This is more like the wrist bands of plays you see some QB's use. They get a signal from the sideline, look up the play, and don't need to huddle.
To be honest I am happier that the Jets have a staff that is about a zillion times more proactive than past staffs. Whether it works or is gimmicky, it is, who cares. No way this defense ends the year 30th in 3rd down conversions. Not that prior staffs sat on their asses but they really didn't seem capable of fixing problems on the fly. For once I have confidence they can fix it. It doesn't matter anyhow, once Revis gets back.......instant fix. lol
Geez, even Kerry didn't need one. I Blame this mostly on Revis and the uncertainty of his playing, than playing, than almost immediately getting injured. Rex has had his guys all over. Just think where we'd be at with Revis not even a full camp just healthy. Cro would be in his #2 role, Wilson at nickel where he's excelled and the safeties doing their thing. Drives me nuts that Coleman is frickin starting this week. Thank God for Mark carrying us these past two weeks, and the D second half vs the Pats.
it makes sense for there to be confusion 1/2 our secondary is new to the team and the system 1 is new to the league and they had to shift position a couple times because of the holdout and Revis's injury it will improve as the year goes on our secondary will become more dominant
I love that this coaching staff is willing to try anything and constantly seeks to evolve to improve.
That's not really fair though. We're down our best two players on defense, and we're playing the run at the top of the league. If Revis and Jenkins, not to mention Pace, had been healthy all the way so far we'd likely lead the league in passing defense.
if it helps them play better I have no problem with this. Right now our biggest asset from last year is our biggest liability
I think this last game's defensive effort really embarassed and pissed Rex off. Particularly the secondary and if it takes wristbands to get these guys on the same page, then so be it. I just hope this simplificaton works for the secondary as much as it did for the offense.
