Not sure if this is old news, but a friend of mine is an Arena Football League cheerleader for the LV Gladiators and she told me one of her friends auditioned for the Jets Cheerleading squad.

Supposidly they will have 18 cheerleaders this season and by the time the new stadium opens, they will have 32 cheerleaders...

It's about time. I know they had flag girls last season, so this is good news for me.

Just thought you all would like to know...

Sorry if this has been posted, or if it's old news for you.

I don't know if it is the flag girls or cheerleaders. They were practicing to Welcome to the Jungle which is the song that plays when the Jets come out.

Since the Jets are one of the few teams left without cheerleaders, that's a no brainer.

I know exactly what you mean mate. AFL and rugby is just like that, all about the action on the field. International Union is selling out a little, and i really hate the stuff that they do at Aus home games with the stupid inflatable waving arm guys.

But anyway, i wouldn't mind having cheerleaders for the jets, the rest of the league is that way anyway.

Sorry Gus but i love Cheerleaders :) its the outfits! yum yum. Plus you need something to watch when the ad breaks are on in the stadium so a nice group of fit young women is perfect for that :)

I love how people always say football shouldn't have cheerleaders.

Why not? It's pretty much THE sport for cheerleaders.

Besides, the only time you even notice them is during time outs and halftime. Besides hitting the head, what else are you doing during breaks? May as well have some eye candy to stare at for a couple minutes while waiting for the action to restart.

Beer, Women, and Football. What else does a man really need? Oh yeah, STEAK!

Thought all the girls around white city dressed like that anyway :eek:hmy:

When theres a break in play I need food and drink and emptying my bladder to make room , if cheerleaders can do any of that for me , then good I'll have 2 please.

Whooa dude, thats a lot of ad breaks and time between plays. I think on quick calculation that might be about 32 beers and 46 toilet visits ;) though as you are from Newcastle i would not put that past you ;)

Maybe instead of cheerleaders there should be beer wenches in Jets colours :)

I'll take the cheerleaders over the fat guys running with the flags any day of the week.

I'm completely on board with this. We've been the laughingstock of the league for years. Since my first football game, there have always been cheerleaders there. The best is when I was little and my dad would take me to Hackensack High School games, and I'd get to see teenage girls underwear and bouncy-bounce! I knew that someday that would all be mine so I played my ass off until I got there. Football just isn't football without "first and ten, do it again on the sidelines
