Peake is a shocker to me. I’m guessing one of the tight ends is gone when Stewart comes back. Not sure who leaves when kpl returns from his suspension. Looks like we are only fielding 5 WRs for the Monday night game.
I had a feeling we would keep 4 TE & only 6 WR but a FB too! Also 5 safeties. Thought Luvu or Donahue would have made it. Obviously things will change with the addition a a few cast offs. Also please post who you want the 10 man practice squad to be to be.
My Practice squad LB F.Luvu FB D.Flowers OT A.Garcia OL D.Shepley QB L.Falk (Over J.Wolford) WR C.Hanson S B.Bryant LB D.Donahue (Eligible?) DL X.Cooper (Eligible?) WR T.McBride (Eligible?)
I'm shocked that they kept 4 TEs AND a FB, and even more shocked that they kept 5 safeties. They really might play a 3-2-6 or 3-3-5.
Looking back I did pretty good in our predict which WR's would stay and go thread. The only player I got wrong was Chad Hansen (didn't bat 100%). However I did predict that both the 7th round jag out of William & Marry in McBride and damn near 30 year old Charles Johnson would both have no chance at making our 53. And also predicted that all of Robby/Enunwa/Kearse/Pryor and *Stewart out of Alabama* and *Peake out of Clemson* along with our TE in Leggett out of Clemson all had no chance of being cut before the regular season. So I'll take my 90% efficiency rating in stride (9-1)
TWELVE defensive backs on the roster (not counting two more on suspended list or pup)?? I guess Maccagnan realizes that with no rush you need a lot of guys back there to yell for help when the opposing QB has all day to throw.
Something funny that our leading sack contributor from last year got cut (Bass) and we still do not have an outside LB that can actually get close to an opposing QB. Argue all day about our Oline issues, reality is it might be an All Pro unit compared to what we have at linebacker.
The outside linebacker unit is the worst unit in the league...its the only real whole on D. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Meh, some of these guys are just placeholders until someone is roster eligible or picked up from another squad's cuts. There will be changes before game 1 and more as guys come off suspension and IR.
Peake should not be shocking. He has been a starting gunner on the punt team for a couple years. The fifth and sixth receivers almost never see the feild so it’s good that they used those slots on starting ST players.
Final roster in pictures, pretty cool. https://www.newyorkjets.com/photos/the-jets-roster-in-photos#697a1235-c2af-424a-9d0c-f6ab7e181704
I think with the new PS rules (when the PS went to 10 players) teams can sign a max of 2 players with 2 or less accrued seasons so I think Hansen and Donahue are both eligible. But I could be wrong.
Josh Martin ranked 2nd in QB hits/QB pressures behind only Leonard Williams I'm expecting a breakout season from Josh Martin he'll have a lot of opportunities come 2018.
https://www.ganggreennation.com/2018/9/2/17810682/understanding-the-practice-squad "Up to 4 players per practice squad may have up to 2 years of NFL experience each. Other than those 4 players, only players who have been on an active roster for fewer than 9 games in any season of their careers are eligible for the practice squad." Also, this article says an 11th player of international origin can be approved by the NFL.
funny as soon as I read this I didn't even know or bother to look at who posted it but I knew it was you. random question is there anyone of the Jets starters on offense and defense that you think won't have breakout seasons. I love your optimism but I mean be realistic.
