If we are who we think we are, we beat Buffalo handily and emerge 4-2 on top of the AFC east. If we lose, then we can entertain the SOJ crap.

    Here are the facts:

Attribute the Saint loss to a rookie QB.
Attribute the Dolphin loss to a rookie HC, a Dolphin scheme and personnel well suited to ours, and the fact that every team loses games like these.

We're 3-2, on top of the division, and have an opportunity to go 4-2 next week.

Keep in mind that we're in year 1 of a rookie HC and QB regime. We can't expect Rome to be built in a day. We can expect a foundation and organizational committment, which we have. I'm not even leaving my bandwagon seat to go to the bathroom.

Buffalo, unlike Miami is a conventional team with personnel drastically lesser than the Saints. A home ass-kicking of Buffalo will show we're building, and we should expect that Rex will have the team mentally and emotionally prepared to play (and hopefully will bench Thomas "2 yards" Jones.

#1 The Wildcat worked and they showed different variations of it that havent been on film. We did slow it down in the second quarter and were actually leading in rushing at the half.
#2 The defense prepared for the wildcat all week and the kid Henne got to throw knowing this. It created different looks and it was done very well. Rmember, the other guys get paid too, they outcoached a ROOKIE head coach. At least Rex admitted it.
#3 The offense showed it can put up points and run against a SOLID defense when the D is struggling, put that together with the way the D played in the first three games and we should be fine.
#4 Braylon Edwards, thought he couldnt catch??
#5 And finally, Im not jumping yet. The Red Sox crushed the Yankees in the beginning, its a marathon, not a sprint, and last I checked, were still in first, its ours to lose. Well see how it goes, I like our chances.

I put this in another thread but i think its spot on.

Well written ... This is NOT the SOJ ... We are going to have our growing pains, the so called "experts" predicted us for 0-5 to start the season ... Lets give our rookie HC & QB a bit of slack ... Our "D" managed to let up 151 yds rushing to a team that was averaging 249 yd a game ... We gave up too many "big" plays, we didn't tackle well, we didn't stop them when we needed to ... Our offense put up 27 points, there is NO WAY we should give up 28+ points to ANY TEAM in the NFL ... We've had 2 losses in a row, one to a team the IMHO is one of the best in the league and another that is running an offense that is very unconventional ( And reigning division champs, maybe thru smoke and mirrors, but none the less, still last years champs ) ... Our HC said this one was on him, he did not prepare them the way they should have prepared them ... Hopefully that will NOT happen again ....

I for one am happy the way the season has gone so far, I would love to be 4-1 or 5-0, BUT ... If I have to I'll settle for 1st place in the division at this point

I'm not jumping off the bandwagon either. The culture change will take time. The OP is dead-on pointing out how quickly people have forgotten we have a rookie HC and rookie QB at the helm.

The Defense will come around. They're entitled to having a bad game. It happens. Like I said in another thread, we all knew coming in that there were going to be games where the D loses/wins us some games, and there will games where the O will win/lose us some games. Nobody in their right mind expected to go 19-0 this season, even with our early success. So people need to settle down. We will see what this team is made of in the next 4 games.

I'm glad to read this thread, I avoided TGG all day because I knew there would be tons of people overreacting and acting like pu$$ies. I hate those fans.

This is as realistic as it gets. In the off season people were calling for 6-10 and shit like that. This isn't a 1 year deal. This is our coach and our QB. Both year 1. There's a very real possibility of going into the playoffs.

What more could people want from year 1? yeah, we're not elite...big deal. Still, we're pretty friggin good and there's more upside than downside.

The way I see it, I expect the whole project (HC/QB) to be working as it should in no less than 3 seasons and last for at least other 10 years.

In other words, in my mind this is the Jets 2011-2020.
In other words, in my mind this team hasn't even started to play.
In my mind, 2009-2010 is a huge pre-season.
In pre-season I expect the team to evolve, to improve, to be polished, to fill the gaps. In order to achieve all this, the team needs to win and lose games, the team needs to make mistakes and gain confidence making great plays/big games. The result is not the most important thing in preseason, and for me -again- this is a huge preseason.

I don't expect the team to play this 2 years as if these are preseason matches, I expect them to play as if every single match is the superbowl.
    That's their job as players/staff.

But for 2 years I won't judge the team/project based on the match results.
That's my right as a fan.
