I heard on ESPN News last night that the Redskins might be willing to give up Campbell for a 2nd rounder. I think this guy is pretty legit. Why mortgage the future for Cutler?
Because Jason Campbell isn't better than what we have. We shouldn't mortgage the future for Cutler, either, to be perfectly honest.
it makes more sense to mortgage it for cutler than to bring in campbell who will always be mediocre at best.
Have you watched him play? One of my best friends is a Skins fan, so I saw about half of their games this season. While he may be fine for the Skins as a drafted starter, he's not a QB I'd seek to acquire.
Since he has been a pro, he has never had the same offense for more than one season. Each year, the guy has to learn a brand new offense, how can he be effectively evaluated?
So KC & BR are better than Campbell because you and your best friend watched half of the Redskins games together and decided that this guy is ok as a drafted starter, but definitely not a traded starter? I don't get it bro. What about stats? He had pretty good numbers on a super conservative mediocre Redskins team. The guy doesn't throw many picks. With a great D backing him up who knows how great he could be.
He's gonna be a free agent next year anyway. If the Redskins keep him and don't acquire Cutler he might walk
Who knows how great Clemens and Ratliff could be? You missed my point. I'm not trading a 2nd rounder for complete uncertainty. He's not a franchise back, who you try to trade for, he's the kind of guy you stick with because you drafted him, but keep your eyes open for something better. Hence why the Skins are reportedly in the mix for Cutler. If he were a FA, I'd consider him. That's about it.
I hear ya, but the Skins are interested in anything new and shiny. The fact that they would dump 3 years of work and development (bringing Campbell along) for the next big thing isn't surprising to me at all.
No way! I thought he sucked at Auburn as a pro prospect and he's done nothing to change my mind. Washington will not get a 2 for him, in my opinion.
Based on seeing KC and Campbell both play. (Coupled with the fact that preseason aside, the organization values BR at the KC level.) Campbell is a mediocrity.
