Think about it, after that game it all started from there: -Rex's reputation grew -The playoff run -Sanchez's signs of maturity -The media attention -The chance to go on Hard Knocks Pretty much everything good that's happened to the Jets in the past year has been because the Colts decided to rest their starters and helped us get into the playoffs. So in some weird way...we owe the Colts for sitting Manning and company
Imagine how much better it would be if the Colts didnt rest their starters and Jets still kicked their ass, and didnt have to hear about everyone bitching about "the jets being let into the playoffs"
And I was cheering for the Jets to beat the Colts last year, and two weeks ago, and last week against the cheatroits. Not cheering for you guys Sunday BUT, IF, IF you do win Sunday. I'll cheer for you on Feb 6. Really hope I don't have to though. Rather be cheering for the Steelers to beat the Pack
To me, everything that's happened to the jets the last year has nothing to do with the colts. All the things i see listed would have happened reguardless except for the playoff run(even though the game was close when they sat peyton)
Everyone is sleeping on the Bears. I agree Rodgers is much better than Cutler and everything but the Bears will not be a walk in the park for any team to take on.
Actually all the good luck started for the Jets on November 15 2009. The day I took a dump that was like a foot and 1/2 long. Since that time the Jets are 20-7.............. Your welcome fellow Jets fans....................
Yes it truly did. If we missed the playoffs last year im sure we wouldnt have had high expectations this year. Probably L.T. wouldnt have come here. Thankyou Caldwell.
Caldwell sits his starters, giving up a chance at an undefeated season (I think you've got to go for that), getting the Jets into the playoffs, sparking this season's greatness. Caldwell calls a timeout in the wild card round so foolish that even he cannot provide a coherent explanation. Indeed, the Jets owe much to the incompetence of Jim Caldwell.
I couldn't disagree more. The Jets may have lost to the Colts during the AFC Championship about a month later, but the Jets weren't losing that game. With or without Manning. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Jets were down 4 points heading into the half. Brad Smith returned a TD starting off the 3rd quarter... Which gave us the 3 point lead. THATS when Peyton Manning was pulled; down by 3. The Jets weren't losing that game. Our #1 ranked defense and rushing attack wasn't about to allow a loss that night. I'be seen Peyton fall flat on his face plenty of times during pressure situations. We had the momentum, and they wouldn't have been able to stop our rushing attack no matter what. All of this started the day we signed Rex Ryan as head coach. He made it known we would compete for a championship, he also let the world know he's not about kiss Belly's rings.
For one, it's common practice to rest starters at the end of the year if you're in Indys position at that point in time. Rex doesn't do it, or won't do it, because I believe he believes in maintaining rhythm and clockwork that is only obtained by growing weekly as a team. Secondly, Indy had their chance to beat us in the playoffs, and did. They did so because it was personal at that point. Just like it was personal to beat them this year. Hopefully, we aren't in the middle of beginning a long road of waiting for revenge against Pittsburgh this time next week.
More like it started the night that Joey Namath decided to be a man and not wear a rubbah guy. B's all the way this yea'. Fhakin Seguin is like 9 months younger than me but has already achieved more in life than anyone in this thread combined, so fuck yeah. Pitchas and catchas in 6 weeks. Carl Crawfawd is gonna steal 3 bases before A-Gonz hits a hr whihc renders all his speed meaningless but none the less entertaining. Amirite or am i right? Fhack the pats they're a bunch of pussies. Long story short, at the end of the day it's not worth climbing for the top bannana on the tree for it will give you the worst shits my friend. I can't remember my first beer at this point.
