i think miller is good at corner, he does need to develop a little more and stop committing big pass interference penaltys, but other then that his speed, agility, hands, and jumping capabliltys are rediculas, he'll be good this up comming season but even better in the future.

Does Tannenbaum really deserve credit for Martin?

He was the cap guy for Parcells, even though BP was the GM. I have a feeling that they are saying that the poison pill was Tannenbaum's idea.

I read that article a few hours ago, and from the time I saw that headline I thought about 4 years of 3rdand15draw complaining about Jones the way he always did about CM. That was enough to make baby Jesus cry.

Jones and Martin are completely different talents in my opinion. Martin ground teams down early in the game and then got better after he'd touched the ball 10 to 12 times. Jones is the exact opposite, being a much more effective back from the get-go and then wearing down after 14 or 15 carries.

Obviously the Martin tendencies mitigated against a multi-back situation as you really wanted Curtis to handle the ball 20+ times in the game. I think Jones will much better suit what Mangini and Tannenbaum have in mind over the next few seasons. And I think Jones presence will help Washington's development whereas Martin's presence on a team always hindered the backs behind him, although not necessarily to the detriment of those teams.

Let's hope he's better than Martin. Need a back who will take over a playoff game and carry his team to a title.

Thomas Jones won't be as good as Curtis Martin was I am sure.

But if I am wrong.

Only problem is, Jones is 4 years older than Martin was.

Curtis Martin is an all time great back, and a future hall of famer, so Jones being as good as Martin is very unlikely. Jones is a good player, but he's not a great player. He should be very good for the Jets but he's not going to be Curtis Martin.

i dont think that thomas jones will ever be or should be compared to curtis martin, but you do have to remember curtis carried the whole load by himself, where as jones will be sharing carries with leon washington who is no slouch. This giving jones a slight edge considering the fact he will be fresh more often then martin was and should be a little bit more productive then martin was in the last 2 years. Not only does him splitting carries make him a lot more fresh, but it also makes him capable of lasting a few more years than martin did, but all i have to say is when the SAD SAD day comes that Curtis hangs up the cleats before the begining of this season the number 28 should be retired!
