So you think Holmes prefers to play w/ Tebow? You know he wants to catch balls, right?

Could you clarify what you mean?

Is there a new story or quote, or are you speculating that someone who hurt their ribs is not playing in meaningless preseason games to be healthy for games that count is hanging someone out to dry?

    I don't know.

    So he says.

No it's his history here. He's quit on the team before and everyone knows his relationship with Sanchez was bad at the end of last season.

No fracture, no internal bleeding that I'm aware of but I'm reading he could be out until week 1. I think he's full of ****.

He wasn't in shape in OTAs (helmet throwing incident), he wasn't in shape at the start of training camp, he needs the reps in the new offense etc.

If anything he just doesn't want to practice. The fact that Rex saw something "sticking out" from his rib area when he had the cartilage injury tells me it was probably fairly serious though.

He has nothing to gain by "hanging sanchez out to dry".

I think holmes needs to get the ball. I think hes worse than keyshawn in that regard. He knows hes good and expects to be the focus of the o. He wont bite his lip for sanchez right or wrong. So my answer is yes he will bury sanchez if he feels he isnt being used properly but if he is getting his touches he will fall inline. What do you expect for 10 mil per....if you want character that will cost more

Cool man thanks for the update

I suppose its not realistic that the guy is actually injured.

I'd look to deal Holmes if possible.

He doesnt fit on this offense anymore. If he had Fitzgeralds attitude it would be different. But Holmes, who doesnt seem interested in practicing, being the one vet around a bunch of young unproven guys....its not a fit. The offense is going to stink with or without Holmes...you might as well stink and be positive.

I don't like Holmes one bit but I think the guy is injured. I don't think Holmes has been in good physical shape since he's been a Jet. The Jets made a hugh mistake when they gave him that big contract. Holmes played decently for 12 games as a Jet in 2010 - it was his get a new contract season and he suckered the Jets right in. He got his money and now deep down he does'nt really give a shit. He will play and try to put on a nice show but deep deep down inside I don't think Holmes cares about anything but himself.
The Jets need to draft a reciever early in the draft next season and get rid of this cancer. The Steelers knew what they had in Holmes. Now he's the Jets problem and looks like he will stay the Jets problem for 2 more seasons. Still I would'nt say he's hanging Sanchez out to dry specifically - he's really hanging out the whole Jet franchise out to dry!

Next year he can be traded, not this year though. There's over 11 million in dead money for him this year.

WAH the Jets offense stinks Waaaaah!

Come on one preseason game in and the offense is going to stink all year. Seriously get a grip.

I understand Holmes is a malcontent but if he is injured, then he is injured.

Its only the preseason. As long as he gets his work in on the side he should be okay. He is a proven veteran(all be it a pain in the ass) and the only vet the Jets have at wideout. The Jets cant trade him away.

And if some DB hits Holmes while he goes across the field in an meaningless preseason game we would be fucked.

Holmes has been here for a few years now he is familiar with Sanchez, so there is no need for him to get used to playing in the system.

Holmes is a jerk, we all know that. Do I think he is really injured; yes. He has nothing to gain by "hanging Mark out to dry". Mark is the better passing QB, and Holmes would really have to start blocking to be involved in a TT offense (or be on the side-lines).

An Aside, If TT ends up being the starter, you will see heavy doses of Hill, Turner, Gangeway, and Vlad

Im basing it off of last season as well when the Jets struggled to get first downs. They brought back essentially the same offense and added Tim Tebow.

3 years ago, we had a rag tag group of WR's, no malcontents, and the Jets started off all on the same page and eventually traded for Braylon when they felt they needed a guy who could stretch the field. Just keeping a guy like Holmes around a young offense and a currently mentally fragile QB in Sanchez is just asking for trouble. Take Holmes out of the picture, and I guarantee you Sanchez would be more at ease. 2010 Sanchez had a running game to fall back on and we pulled out some flukey wins so its covered up a lot of Holmes nonsense.
