1050 who is still covering the JETS 100%, Michael Kay just dropped this stat in: Sanchez QB rating for the playoffs was: 92.1 If Bray Bray had caught the Bomb in Cincy it would have been: 101.4 I think that's pretty impressive for a Rookie.
They showed a stat yesterday that he had thrown more TD passes than any other rookie QB in the playoffs (NFL History).
Can you imagine if we had gone 9-7 and didn't make the playoffs? There would be huge concerns about Sanchez based on his regular season play. These last three games were sooo huge for the guy, his confidence level, his standing with his teammates, his perception in the media and as far as enhancing himself as a leader. The best thing about him....he plays his best in big games. Remember the Rose Bowl and now he has his two best games in the playoffs on the road!
what was brady's qb rating in is first playoffs? I know qb rating is not a great indicator I just want to see it for comparison sake
60 of 97, 572 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int, 77.3 QB rating, 3-0 record http://www.nfl.com/players/tombrady/gamelogs?id=BRA371156&season=2001
You know what...didn't even think of that. We woulda hung our hat on the final 2 games which would have then been questions for their integrity. But not only that, Just the Experience that he has already in big games may have just pushed him forward 2-3 years.
Thats the truth...we learned more about this kid than any regular game could tell us...and what he learned in these last three games could never have been taught. That alone makes this little run soooo worth it.
There was never anything wrong with Sanchez. For a good part of the season the offensive coaching staff ran amuck and so we all thought Sanchez was screwing up badly. Garbage in, garbage out. As soon as the CS stopped putting garbage in the system what came out smelled a whole lot nicer.
I just hope he has a long talk with Dan Marino and any other QB who had playoff success very early in their careers then took it for granted they'd be back all the time but never wound up winning.
the biggest thing aside from the experience that the Jets gained for next season is a complete playbook. I don't think they will have to be a 60/40 run to pass team next year. With Leon back there will be a hug outlet guy and screen guy that will open things up for Keller who he really seemed to click with the last month. Cotch has some of the best hands in the NFL and is unknown by those outside of the AFC East. Edwards has the talent and he wants to be in New York so if he can get his hands right, which I think he can, the offense should be much more diverse. If they miss the playoffs we go into next season with dink and dunk express all over again.
Actually, in a faster paced game he picked it up. That bodes well imo. If he can play better in a bigger faster more important setting, the sky is the limit for him. That said, his sophomore season will not be all peaches and cream.
I think he is a future pro bowler, he showed some real promise in the playoffs and espexially the last game. it seemed as if he was gun slinging 20 yrd passes everywhere. Next Brett Favre lol. Im callin it, even espn thinks so, they celebrate the same too
