This sounds like the stuff of legends. What I liked is that Magic Mike knew what he wanted and acted quickly. When certain deals fell through, they had an a plan B. He was proactive in reaching out to other GMs to get a feel for their situations. Whats crazy is that this doesn't even mention the draft, which was regarded as even more brilliant than our FA moves. I think we're really lucky to have Macagnan.

I really like that Macc and Bowles worked closely together to get the right players for this team. Every signing had a purpose as highlighted in the article about going after Skrine to defend the Pats dink and dunk game. I'm optimistic about the Jets for the first time in a few years.

That was a great read. If the Post can put out articles like that on a regular basis, I would actually start reading their newspaper again.

In 7 days we had more well crafted strategic personnel decisions than at any time since Curtis Martin was signed.... If I ever meet Wolf or Casserly, I will personally thank them and shake their hands. They f-cking saved our franchise.

If we ever win the SB, I might even be willing to give Woody some credit. But not yet....

And props to Woody. It's not easy to cut bait with a GM after just two years and he understood he needed help in finding the next GM and coach.

Thanks for posting. Like others have said, since it came from the Post, I would've otherwise overlooked it.

It's the Buster Skrine signing that stands out most to me. Not a guy I had heard of and the only media analysis was that he committed a lot of penalties. But Mac's scouting background really shows up with a guy like this. He knew what he wanted in a slot corner and determined Buster fit the bill. A great under the radar but impactful signing. Gilchrist is another one as well.

"Wow" "Bandwagon" ROFLMAO You are too much. I've run into some cynical posters before, but you take the cake. Regardless of how the rest of the season turns out, it was a great 7 days and has set the team on a much better, more positive course than they were on. It demonstrated Mac's skill and knowledge about players/talent and showed his controlled aggressiveness, yet not ignorant, reckless aggressiveness like Tanny. It showed that he knew where the team's biggest problems lay and his decisiveness and both willingness and ability to move quickly unlike Idzik. If you can't see that and enjoy it for what it was/is, then I feel sorry for you.
