I don't want to hear how he led the AFC in rushing last year...or that he has big fucking arms...or whatever. The bottom line is....he's averaging not yards...but inches on every carry. Leon Washington is MUCH more effective in the backfield.....it's time to pass the torch.
They're utilizing the two backs in different ways. The Jets have tried to run Jones up the middle, and they've tried to get Leon the ball in space. You need diversity in the running game.
he did pretty well on that last one till the holding call brought it back. definitely ineffective today... definitely more to blame than just tj
at this point in the game....TJ has 14 carries for 20 yards....LW has 12 carries for 46 yards. I expect production from our starting HB.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. However...I will give TJ props for one thing.....he protects the ball well.
We should run some more Seminole plays because our running game is really holding us back at this point. Our defense can only handle so many 3 and outs.
That's because he turns his back to the LOS when he gets close to contact. I don't like the way he's running the ball at all this year and it's not just the run blocking.
I find that TJ waits for the Oline to make something happen before he does anything......I mean, Leon at least makes something out of nothing...he turns 5 yard runs into 10 yard first downs with his extra effort. I don't see any of this from Jones........ EDIT: don't get me wrong...I'm eccstatic for the win.....it was a great game all around......but TJ's running is starting to be a glaring concern, IMO. That was TOO many '3 and outs'.
