It seems like every day that win gets better and better. Our boys went into their house, and punched them right in the mouth! Add in Belichicks whining and sore loserness, and several Pats players saying that they were outcoached, and I'm just in heaven. This was a great, great win for this young team.
I'm still very pumped as well, but I hope the team hasn't been thinking about the game anymore. I just hope they eat whatever they ate last Sunday morning.
Same here, but we have got to move on. The Bears are coming, and the jets have to shock the world, again.
I think the players have to move on, but we, as fans, can enjoy the win as long as we like. Even losing to the Bears won't take anything away from the win in NE for me.
A win over the Bears would be awesome. No doubt about it, but the Patriots game will live on for months.
Ok ... We Need to take it down a notch in here. There's way too much noise and the other threads can't concentrate! Me too...sssshhhhh
Yeah it's great knowing we "upset" the Patriots, on THEIR field no less. That makes the win sweeter. And I guess you can maybe say the Jets had SOMETHING to do with the Patriots signing Testaverde. I remember they were talking about doing it a while ago, and it then talk died down. The Jets beat NE, Brady got sacked 4 times, and what do you know, NE signs Vinny a few days after. Realistically, I am sure the Jets had NOTHING to do with it, but you never know.....
Pumped isn't the word. This is one of the most satisfying wins in the last decade. To see Bill Belichick have to embarassingly walk across that field (after his recent snubbing of anything Jets) and have to shake hands as the loser with his "understudy," Eric Mangini... Well... that's priceless!
P/S: When Hobson planted Brady... and I mean PLANTED, I was beside myself. I was so ecstatic I couldn't care less if a penalty was called, even. Anything they could have doled out in the way of yardage at that point was well worth it, IMO. And I don't often think that way... in fact, I hate penalties. But that was one penalty that I told my wife... "I don't care what the penalty is... he planted Brady so bad it was worth it!" After the Pats hired Testaverde, of all interceptors (WTF?)... I was convinced that Hobson did more than just plant his sorry ass... he probably injured him.
If he did get hurt, Rewatch the last play. Ellis caught Brady's arm on the side of his Helmet and it couldn't go forward causing the fumble. That had to hurt.
227, my thoughts exactly, three years is a long time to suffer...but the look on TB's coverboy face is priceless, it almost looked like the offense abandoned their captain, maybe he has been whining a little too much, or maybe not, but the whole team did not play with any fire, or maybe they have become too jaded? A little overrated? Is there is something going on behind the scenes in Patsies land, new field and an old QB brought back from the comfy confines of his Elmont couch...what did BB announce his retirement? Or did the Cinderella story revert back to the wench? I think that maybe some people have lost the fire and the spark...How many fingers can you fit SB rings on? I do think Mr Lizard was planning on Eric to take over the helm one day and still feels a sense of betrayal, but loyalty comes in Green doesn't it?
We proved Brady is vulnerable and this is not the first time we've proved it. He can be flustered. This time around, in their OWN house, we took this game away from them. This was no "lucky win." This was no game they "gave away on stupid mistakes." This was no "ugly win" that you have to apologize for and say, "Well, it was ugly, but we won, so that's the bottom line and we'll take it." We pushed Brady and company around and beat them. We outcoached them, we out-"physicalled" them, we out-talented them and we beat the crap out of them. They weren't even in the game toward the end. We had our way with them whichever way they turned. We took this game away from them in an embarassing back-to-back loss IN THEIR OWN HOUSE in front of all their playoff-happy fans. And I am so freakin' proud to be a Jets fan this week, it's indescribable.
I am going into this Bears game this weekend with my wife, my daughter and her boyfriend and I'm dying to see how we play this week. It'll be a good game, but more importantly, I want to see how this Jets team reacts after such an emotional win over the Patriots last Sunday. 1) Do they have the poise to play well, back-to-back? 2) Can Pennington handle such a strong defense? 3) Can our defense contain the Bears and bring the pressure they brought to Brady? 4) Can Mangini "find a way" to win, like he did against the Pats? These are all questions that I'm anxious to find out. It'll be a hell of a game.
1) No one wrecked their car or pissed in the sinks in the ladies room, a good sign 2) Chad was not rattled and was never as muddied as TommyBoy was on Sunday, the OL deserves a little of the new found play for incentive money because Chad is not playing for money...a really good sign IMO... 3) Kimo better play like a Super Bowl Champion and catch them by surprise and get to know Grossman a little bit better 4) He is learning how to take charge and when he says bring on the heat, they let loose the dogs (and they are not for a one time show) Woody standing in the rain to watch practice says alot...we will see what this team is made of on Sunday:beer:
I have been savoring this win this entire week. Nothing is going to knock me down. This was awesome and it will end once I hit my head on my pillow late Saturday night and wake up on Sunday morning. Because it's a whole new ballgame when the clock strikes 1PM for Jets Vs Bears.
i just love the way that the pats were such bad losers. Add the fact that they tore up their field looking for an excuse as well as the signing of vinny. Damn im so proud to be a jets fan this week
