Let's say The Jets defeat the NFC representative in the Superbowl, whomever they may be, 34 - 30. And in that game Mark Sanchez has an incredible outing. 336 passing yards, throws for 3 TD's, has a rushing TD. Wins the Superbowl MVP. I say he's STILL not as big a star as Rex Ryan is. I mean his big mouth + they way he changed the Jets culture + his very good coaching + the media loving him = Rex Ryan ALWAYS will be the biggest star on the team. But that's my opinion: What say you?
If the Jets ever have the problem of figuring out who the bigger star is after a championship, I can die happy.
the real question is, would Rex go out and predict a SB victory? if he pulls that off, there's no doubt he will be the biggest sports celebrity in NY.
Rex will be the bigger star buts thats just because he is the first of his kind, never has there ever been a coach with so much bravado. Sanchez will be praised but the first one will go to Rex kinda of like much of the credit goes to Belichick on their first championship. As we win more and more, more credit will go to Sanchez if he plays at a high pro bowl level.
I don't think Sanchez can ever be as big as Rex... Rex is pretty much as big as any normal human can be. Even with the lap band surgery... he should seriously get his money back. That shit didn't work.... he's still fat.
I have a hard time ever imagining Sanchez being nearly as big, much less bigger than Rexy. This is a dumb poll. Who would be the bigger star if the Jets win the SB and Revis runs 3 int's back for TDs? Who would be the bigger star if Shonn Greene ran fo 150 yds and 4 TD's in the SB? Let's just have a poll every time our wandering mind has an abstract thought. Sorry to sound harsh, but... It's always cool to think about your team winning the SB, but to invent the score and wonder who will be a bigger star because of it? Really, who really fuckin' cares, as long as your team won the SB?
I think Mike Devito will steal all the headlines and billboards. I would say Rob Turner but he don't give a shit.
Why the hell did the D allow 30 points? I knew we needed another safety and shouldn't have let Ellis walk.
If the jets some how win it all it would dwarf that rangers Stanley cup run in 94, and both Sanchez and Rex would be immortal sports figures ini this town
