Ok. So everyone is calling for Rex's head with good reason. I am not up to date and don't really know who is available or if they are any good. I've been looking up possible coaches for 2014. Off the top of my head I think of two people:

Jon Gruden who has said he is happy doing what he is doing right now which is MNF and all that.

    Bill Cowher
    who doesn't excite me whatsoever

After looking up possible coaches it appears the Head Coach of Texas A&M is a rather hot topic,Kevin Sumlin, might as well bring Johnny Football with him too.

Theres the OC of the 49ers, Greg Roman, he helped fixed Smith. Maybe he can fix Sanchez? or improve Simms never know.

Standford HC who replaced Harbaugh, David Shaw, who has prior NFL exp. and says he doesn't want to leave the college ranks as of now.

Lovie Smith, he is also a defensive minded coach. We don't want that, do we?

The Other Gruden? Jay Gruden. He has helped improve that Cincy offense into that of a division winner. It helps when you have capable receivers. Such as AJ Green

Anyone want to bring back Callahan? Even if we wanted to doubt he comes back so NEXT

As far as I know that anyone I could think of. Or found to be worth mentioning. Just making this thread to get a feel for what is really out there.

My choice would be (in order):

    Jon Gruden
    Jason Garrett
    Greg Roman
    David Shaw

I would try to keep four QBs on the roster until our new coach has had a chance to work with / improve / fully evaluate Sanchez (with pay cut), Smith, Simms, and either a veteran or draft pick. The following year I think we cut down to three QBs and keep the best guys we can afford to keep.

Kevin Sumlin signed an extension. None of those options to me look very good.

So let me get this straight, you are going to replace a great defensive mind with another defensive mind when the offense is clearly a POS.

    Use your brain.

Really? Jason Garrett? He hasn't done much in Dallas with an actual NFL offense what do you expect him to do here? Guessing you have no faith in anyone without prior exp. so no coordinators?

OMFG what I wouldn't give to keep our current team and replace Geno Smith and Cumberland with Romo and Whitten.

Lovie Smith kept the Bears respectable, always in the hunt and never a joke, they averaged like 9 wins every year for a decade, hell he got fired after a 10 win season. He also had a SB appearance and NFC Championship to his credit, we can do worse.

We can. The Bears defense was notorious for scoring after forcing a int or fumble. Back during they're SB run. Hester was giving the offense ridiculous field position or just scoring himself. 2 things we suddenly can't do.

With our young defense and his resume I think the Jets can become relevant pretty quickly with Lovie, he was a solid coach with the Bears. Having a defensive minded coach is fine, having a defensive minded coach with no clue about offense like at all with terrible judgment isn't.

Meh, if Lovie Smith is the best option, I'd rather just stick with Rex Ryan.

We basically need to improve the offense, it's becoming a nightmare and a joke.

Guessing as Idzik is a new GM that he would want a coordinator or coach that he had worked with before. Just a guess but Darrel Bevell. He was the guy who wanted Russell Wilson and has an offensive background.

    Lol, Jason Garrett.

Probably one of the most talented teams in the NFL, and they still can't do shit.

Jon Gruden is the only guy I'd want over keeping the staff.

They'll probably hire some fuckin college coach and go 4-12 over the next two years.

Lovie is consistent, I would love a decade of consistent top of the division football.

It's my understanding that Cowher has declined to leave his current employment on a number of occasions. Whether that's entirely true or not at any given moment, I don't know.

Our starting quarterback went down. Most teams that suffer that injury have bad seasons. It's CRAZY to fire a head coach based on a season when his starting quarterback was injured.

Isn't this the question of the day?

its easy to get mad at him but really who's there thats ready to come in and take the job from him?

I'm not seeing anybody worth the time, I'd rather see another year of Rex at this point, this time without a cap strapped roster. (And maybe some better CB play)

This thread just makes me sad.

Hopefully Idzik knows what he's doing because I bet (or at least hope) that it's his call on whether Rex stays or goes.
