I just read he's getting over a bad back and thumb.

 

Everybody his age has a bad back and constantly giving his mentee the "thumbs up" can certainly be debilitating.

 

I bet Sam suits up and backs up McCown. Then starts the final 4 games.

 

Hey, for $10m, I can give all the thumbs up anyone needs to see. McCown knows this is the easiest money he'll ever earn in his life. All he's got to do is play the role of older QB/Mentor and ride these game checks all the way to the bank.

 

You do realize that (according to one prolific poster here) he is getting the ten million now because he's going to work for almost nothing as a personal coach to Darnold for years to come, right?

 

Well, that particular poster has shown himself to be an unabashed CS Homer and will go to any extreme to excuse whatever strange actions are taken by said FO/CS. He is the absolute King of Excuses bar none. So when he says McCown will work for free to mentor Darnold, take it with the perverbial grain of rock salt.

 

This may work...for a week or two.
