@deemason85 Derrick Mason One day I will open up & tell my side of story but for now, I'll let those who so called know "what went on" tell there story. But I do hope Rex gets them back to where they were last year bc he's one of my favorite coaches!I bet I catch flack for that as well.
Does anyone know what actually happened with Mason? He says people think they know, but I haven't heard anything from any of the beat reporters or anyone like Schefter, Mortensen, Glazer, etc
Judging from his tweet, it would seem his issue was with Holmes not Rex. Maybe Mason got in his face for not acting like a captain and it got ugly, and one of them had to go.
Everybody wants every player to shut up. Why? Because they're exposing people Rex refuses to? I wish more people would have spoke up the last few years.
That seems to be my thinking as well, the guys in the post game show (Ray Lucas and Klecko) were talking about cancers and his name seemed to be the one floating around as one.
People assumed he was shipped out because he ripped Schottenheimer and the play-calling (so did the other WR's but they weren't expendable). I'm not going to assume anything different than that unless something else comes out, and invent a good-guy story about how his real problem was with Holmes and his heart was in the right place after all.
I always thought he was let go because he lied and told the press that all three WRs had gone to Rex and complained about Schotty when in fact it was only he who had complained. That, and the fact that he sucked and never practiced.
Great job by MT surrounding a young, 3rd-year QB with professionals like Burress, Holmes, and Mason. What's next -- fixing him up with Lindsay Lohan to settle down ?
Not to point out the obvious, but the dude was cast off from THREE teams this season, and the Jets were the only team to actually get anything for him. A sack of old towels, perhaps, but still. If his side of the story is about anything other than how he's now an outspoken, unemployed and untalented receiver, I'm not particularly interested.
