on this: 5) Will the New York Jets (7-5, vs. Buffalo, at Minnesota, at Miami, vs. Oakland) make the playoffs? 69.1% Yes 30.9% No Total Votes: 6,786 (Taken from a poll on espn.com) I know this point has been talked over 1,000 times already, but I still can't get over it. Three months ago, how many people ever would have thought they'd be staring at a poll like this on December 7th? The next four weeks are going to be really, really exciting. I can't wait.
Or go 1-3 to finish off the season and finish at 8-8 which is right around the highest expectations of many. There's plenty left for the Jets to do, or not do.
Different year, different era, different coach. I don't want to look beyond the Bills game but I'll admit I think 8-5 is where the Jets are at when it's over.
That's exactly what I was saying. There's still a lot of football to be played and spoiler teams are dangerous in the regular season, especially towards the end.
They have exceeded my 6-10 expectation. I have also already won a case of beer from a friend who said they wouldn't win 6 games.
Its quite amazing after an off season where I could barely see the light even though I tried being as optomistic as I can. We still got alot of work to do but it seems alot of my friends who are Dolphins and Giants fans are no longer making super bowl party plans with me. The best part about the whole thing is i really think it only gets better. More Mangini type players will come in, the younger players like Brick, Mangold, Washington, houston, Cotchery will all be getting better and I still can't wait to really see what Brad Smith can do and for some reason Im very excitied about Anthony Schlegal he just looks like a guy who should be parading on field with the lombardi trophy and his hair all over the place.
The doom and gloom fans were predicting four wins at most in the preseason and I said early on don't give up on Chad. As the preseason wore on and he won his job I got my hopes up. He is the best shot we have. If we win on Sunday we will still have a shot at the promised land. We may not be a superbowl team but this team has given us alot more pleasure than pain. Allentown Ernie.
yes but if we lose on sunday (not saying or thinking that we will) but if we do how many of you are going to jump ship and start ripping on mangini and chad again? 75% of you or just 50%?
I never lost hope. I dare anyone to go back and dig up a post in which I predicted anything less than 9-7 or (my possible was) 10-6. Reason? Because the bulk of our losses last year were due to the overwhelming injuries. A lot of our starters injured and a coach who flat-out refused to play new faces. There was no place to go but up!
Frankly, I did insist I would be happy just to see the team come out of the gate, and compete for 60 minutes. But this - I just never expected this. Seriously, I was looking at 3-13 or 4-12, and was willing to accept that all in all this is still good in the name of progress. Thus, as long as wins and losses go, Mangini has far exceeded my expectation. Does this mean I am on the PO bandwagon? By no means. I still take it one game at a time. Even if they finish with 7-9 (losing the remaining 4) I am willing to call this season a success. To see them actually go deep in the post season would be priceless though, I admit.
i,m so excited that i wanna crack every giant fan in the face when the talk bout the giants but i wanna just not get ahead of myself b/c we do have a prett hard game comin up even though it is the bills its the biggest obstacle out of the rest of the games this season b/c the dolphins arent as good as their win streak and we're gna kill them christmas night on monday night football
