His stuff at ESPNNY doesn't have the same feel as when he wrote for the NYDN.....the new guy who replaced him isn't bad, but he can't have the sources and league contacts that Cimini built up over 20+ years at Newsday and the Daily News.
CAN I start a thread that says I DON'T miss Cimini? Manish is indeed the man--blows Cimini outta the water
I saw the title to the thread in the main NYJ forum and a quick glance made me read JackAss for your screen name. I thought it was pretty appropriate considering the thread title....

If the word "douche" had never been invented, I would have spontaneously thought of it when I first heard Rich Cimini.
Here's Rich Cimini in a nutshell. Headline: "Rex Ryan cures cancer" Cimini: "Health care industry suffers massive layoffs."
I'm starting to think people create these threads on purpose just to draw attention to themselves or see what kinda reaction the board is gonna have. I'm pretty sure JKA reads this message board frequently and knows how the majority--if not, the entire board--feel about Mehta in comparison to Cimini. But that's just my deuce cents. Let the homosexuality begin!
There is definitely an extra M in there. Byz caught that one. I think you meant "flaming". ..Although the homo tendencies are immediate thoughts when the word is properly pronounced.
While I rarely agreed with him when he gave his opinion (which was too often....in some ways he was a part-time columnist), he was EASILY the best of the beat reporters (which is not too great of a compliment). He always had info up first and he gave lots of details. His training camp reports were much more detailed than Manish's. Cimini's other problem was too much speculation. People just didn't like him, but if he wasn't good, ESPN wouldn't have hired him.
