I'm watching Sound FX on NFL Network and I must say the more I watch Rex Ryan, the more I love having him as a coach. From talking shit to TO about his 5 yard catch, to making a swim move to another coach and talking to the coaches upstairs bragging about it. Hell I haven’t played in 5 years but I would strap it up and give him my all, so I definitely understand why his players want to do the same.
i haven't played since middle school...im 5'8'' ,145 pounds, white as snow, and jewish...but i swear to god sometimes i get illusions of grandeur just thinking about what i could do out on the field if i had a helmet, shoulder pads and rex ryan as my coach...i'm sure we all feel the same way...i'd love to play my freakin' heart out for this guy. i'd jump on a grenade for that motherfucker.
Rex is a reason to always root just a little harder each week for the "w" and fo each divisional foe to lose. I want him to coach for as long as possible. Not having that crazy fucker on our sidelines just would make things pale in comparison at this point.
That was too funny! Hahahahahaha! I can certainly see why the players in Baltimore loved him so much and wanted him for their headcoach over Harbaugh. It's also the reason Harbaugh made him Assistant Headcoach and not just DC. He probably thought that promoting Rex to Assistand Headcoach would make him stay in Baltimore and not leave for a headcoaching job. So glad Rex decided to make New York his home... he's given us so much fun and so much to look forward to. GO JETS!
Rex 2.0 is still a work in progress but as a HC, he's coming along nicely as he won't publically blast underperformers but judging by the results of the Bengals game, he'll light up any particular unit in private.
Rex is amazing, he's still learning what it means to be a head coach but like Sanchez he's making strides day in and day out. I hope he's our H.C. for a long long time.
I remember reading a story about how they hired Rex and Tanny was so blown away by him that he started making calls to people asking why he hadn't been hired yet, thought he was too good to be true. Last year, and to a lesser extent now, Rex was/is a better motivator than he a coach. It really showed last year the way the team faded on final drives and he didn't make great adjustments. This year that's starting to change and I also like him admitting that he's not at the Hoody's level in the build up to MNF. If he stays focused on improving what he needs to improve I think he'll get there.
