Is going to have a really big game against the Chargers....His one really big game came against Miami in warm weather and I really think Braylon is going to want to make a name for himself this week. I also have a feeling the Jets are going to use him differently. He seems to struggle on fly routes but when he is in traffic he makes some really nice catches. Look for Braylon over the middle this game. I really have a feeling he's going to have 100+ receiving...my gut is rarely wrong
That would be great, personally I'd like to see some slants to Braylon on 3rd downs, but as I'm sure has been said a million times already, next week is all about the running game
I think they have to use him in situations where he is sound with his hands which is in traffic. His focus is at its best in those situations, but when he has a step or two going down the field he gets in his own way
I sure hope so. I think his biggest problem with catching those deep passes is he gets into his own head. When he has too much time to think about making a catch he can't do it. But in traffic, or the really tough grabs he seems to bring down every time(did you see that grab he pulled down in the first quarter surrounded by about 4 bungles - it only netted about 2yrds, but that showed he really does have good hands). I say if Shotty wants to call a deep route down field it should be directed at Clowney. Let BE run slants and out routes all day.
I wouldn't want them to completely abandon sending Edwards deep, even if he doesn't catch it every time, just knowing he can get down the field that quickly forces other defenses to watch out for it every time he's on the field, if you only do that with Clowney it doesn't have the same effect because he isn't on the field as much
It seems like every day Edwards has had a big game statistically, we have lost His biggest games, off the top of my head were....the two Miami games, the Jacksonville game, and the Atlanta game. 4 big games, 4 losses...this is probably more of a direct result of the game plan being oriented on forcing him the ball at times, causing Sanchez picks.
We do sometimes, he just doesn't get as open on deep routes like Braylon does. Braylon has serious talent, I'm never expected him to do much this year, next year I expect him to be elite. He's only had a few drops this year, but they have all been on big plays, this means it is just more mental then physical. This also means that it is a fixable problem.
That's true. Wesley Walker dropped alot of passes early in his career and he didn't turn out to be too bad........:jets:
Too bad>!? Id trade BE and Cotch to have him on this team, Guy was an Elite WR! Hell if your going to be that critical, lets look at Sntana Moss or L Coles, both of them dropped a Boat Load of passes at first! Too Bad, Jesus! WW was one of the best, Zero comparisions to BE "Stone Hands".
