It's a good thing that players and coaches don't react like fans do, because if you read all of these posts it is clear we will never win a game! Clearly last night was not a good effort...but it was a pre-season game. Pre-season has no correlation to regular season success or failure, none. All they did was guarantee a hard week of practice and miserable film sessions. Good thing is that Pats boards have them going 0-16 as well, so I guess we are in good company.
0-16 would probably mean that Kellen Clemens played and sucked. The Jets would then have to decide whether to draft Brian Brohm or Andre Woodson with the 1st pick. Woodson is better and the Falcons probably want to reunite Brohm with Petrino. Therefore, the Jets should trade down to 2 with the 2-14 Falcons. The Jets would pick up a couple extra picks and get Woodson anyway. Sounds like a quality plan.

Yes, I think everyone is aware that Winning and losing doesn’t matter in preseason. However, when you have a quarterback who can do everything well, such as Tom Brady, you can have confidence that he can and will execute all kinds of passes during preseason or the regular season. That's not the case with Chad Pennington, who needs offensive approaches that suit his strength instead of stretching their weaknesses. Look, a preseason game like yesterday is just one of those things that bring you back to reality and let's you know that the starting QB for the boys cannot do everything LIKE a Tom Brady… 0-16/8-8 whatever... Peace out.
its one game, does everyone not remember the Jacksonville game when the Jets got embarrased. We were horrible, but still finished 10-6. Call the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammbulance.
They aren't going 0-16 but that doesn't take away from the fact that Pennington looked ridiculous and if a QB, no matter how smart, can't throw the ball, you are wasting your time.

Wow, you think Mangini would recite that a press conference. I think he is more of a Gettysburg Address guy. It is a little shorter than the First Inaugural address, more time to practice with the team.
He threw the two interceptions to see if they could stop Minnesota from scoring a TD. They even practice a hail mary why not throwing an interception to see how you can stop whoever got interception.
One of the great speeches of all time (although it was "With malice toward none, with charity for all, ..."). That entire last paragraph of the speech is quite remarkable: "With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan -- to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace, among ourselves, and with all nations." The phrase "to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" became the mission statement of the Veterans Adminstration. The photo of Lincoln giving the address is the only known photo of him giving a speech. It is an interesting irony that six of the conspirators in the assassination plot were at the inauguration, and John Wilkes Booth can actually be seen in the famous photo.

With hindsight I think that 'giving' the job to CP so early on may have been a mistake , he plays alot better when the heats turned up
of course not 0-16....... but also not the 12-4, 11-5's i have seen on the boards this offseason. IMO - if the jets go 10-6, regardless of who is at QB, it will dwarf last seasons accomplishment. jil
