Look it’s not secret the Pats are about done, 3 more years max. I’m thinking closer to 1 or 2, by that time our draftee will be coming into his peak. The Bills are the next threat, they are making some power moves. If Miami trades up to take Baker Mayfield as some suspect that would be great for us, but Miami can only get worse with that move. Let’s worry about trapping the Buffalo Bills into Rosen or Baker, neither who can have any success in the Buffalo weather. Make them give up the world to the Browns or Colts to acquire the #4 or 6 Pick to get Rosen or Mayfield. How we achieve this is by leaving either Rosen or Mayfield or both on the table for Buffalo to mortgage their future. If this means taking Barkley then so be it.

As long as the top 3 are Darnold, Barkley and Joshie Buttons the greatest trap in the world is set.

    Thoughts? Drinking

??? I don’t think that’s how the draft works. Yeah you move up ahead of the teams to grab the players of your choice or have a better chance landing the player(s) you want. But just for sakes to grab a player so your rival foes picks a “worser” player? Odd

You just have to pray the Bills or Phins draft Allen then they are doomed for 10 years. We can only hope.

Definitely drink less. You're delusional if you think Miami getting Mayfield would help us. You really need to watch game tape on Mayfield, and read some of the analysis of his game.

How are they doomed for 10 years? At worse if he is a bust they are doomed for 4 years and even then there won’t be a huge cap hit that will stop them from signing other players, Tanny’s mo of stretching the cap as thin as possible might but not drafting a bust. Furthermore, if he does suck they will be right back in position to grab another qb high in the draft when the Allen experiment is over.
There is nothing about any player that will doom a franchise for 10 years

Drafting a monumental bust like Russell, Sanchez, Harrington and so on has the effect of dragging down your program for many years long past the end of the contract. That has been limited somewhat by the change in rookie money but a guy like Allen taken high will get 3 to 4 years to prove how bad he can play before moving on. Throw in a few more years of hold the fort guys and 2nd round picks and it could take the Bills 10 years to recover from taking a guy like Allen before they might once again attempt to take A FQB. Not to mention having the opportunity to be in the right position in a draft to take a FQB does not always coincide with the availability of such a QB. If a team strikes out on a FQB this year it could be 10 or 20 years before they get another opportunity to draft a FQB.

With a guy like Allen who has such massive bust potential combined with a realistic ceiling of Blake Bortles he is looking at the potential to set back a franchise for a decade if not two decades.

Yeah! Let's screw the Bills by passing on a franchise QB and letting them pick him so we regret it for the next 10+ years. Great strategy.

Knowing the Jets luck watch AJ McCarron turn out to be the real deal. He won 2 national championships at Alabama(2011 vs LSU and 2012 vs Notre Dame) so even if the Bills draft a QB I expect AJ to be their starter this year. You know he is going to motivated to take advantage of this opportunity since he spent the past few seasons backing up Dalton is Cincinnati.

This is the kind of "smartest guy in the room thinking" that had Macc draft Hack with his 2nd pick when everyone else "outside the room" had him as a 4th rounder at best.

Forget all the exotic moves, Macc is going to stay with his traditional BPA plan, modified only because he knows he needs a QB.

trap the bills by giving them one of the best 2 QB's while we purposely take one of the suspect ones... im sure that will work out perfectly

Bills might go Lamar Jackson. He’s similar to Cam Newton with his run first mentality. He’s obviously not as big or have the arm talent Cam has but he’s faster... Jackson could have the best start to his pro career over the other QBs this year like RG3 had but as soon as someone gets a few big shots on him it’s going to be the same old song with these running QBs. Injuries = Bust.

With him calling Allen, Joshie Buttons, I think we know his secret connection.

The Bills offense was already built for a similar QB in Tyrod Taylor. The Bills can plug and play Lamar for Tyrod and hope for better results. They'll probably get them, too.
