How pissed must Belli be at Gronk?

    http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...iots-opener/nmKOHlyPgNoP8WPjKU7FXJ/story.html

Was driving up to Rhode Island yesterday and the New England sports talk guys were railing on Gronk for undercutting Bellichick, because (as you know) he NEVER gives out injury info before he has to and even then it is so amorphous it means nothing and here is Gronk basically inviting the reporters to his locker saying "I'm playing Sunday".

I'd imagine Belli is not too happy about that.

I wonder if he will bench him for the first series like he did when Welker put his best foot forward.

Just a guess here, but I think BB gave him the OK. Better to have everyone in the media talking about that than dwelling on the lack of Mankins.

Apparently my theory is completely wrong

    “I’m glad that Rob’s optimistic
about this situation,” Belichick said, via CSNNE.com. “We’ll go through the week of practice and take a look at everything, everybody, and see where everybody’s at and try to do what we feel like is best for the team. With all due respect to Rob — I’m glad he feels the way he does — but, in the end, we’ll have to make the decision we feel like is best for the team and we’ll do that as we go through the week.”

"All due respect." Pshaw. Like he has any respect at all for one of his players

This is Belli trying to sweep Gronk's comments under the rug and downplay them like anyone is going to believe Belli when he says "we haven't made a decision on whether Gronk is playing".

Cat's out of the bag. He's playing. Btw, why wouldn't Miami prepare as if he WAS playing?

Doesn't this make Miami spend a little more time prepping for him than they maybe would have prior to Sunday? I would think so. Which is not a bad thing.

I think that concept is only valid if he doesn't play.

Yeah but if there's any chance that he's playing, you have to prepare for him.

Now it's all but confirmed so Belli loses any tiny edge he might have had had he hinted he wasn't playing.

Gronk has been listed as injured in some capacity 36 of the last 41 weeks of football. Hit him hard. Threat neutralized.

Or plays, but plays in a minimal role.

Looking at the way they eased him back last year, my guess is he plays about 20-25 snaps, and probably just on Miami's half of the field.

Right, and that was kind of what I read in BB's comments. "Glad Rob feels optimistic," lol...

Yup. It was eating him up to hve to say that instead of "Rob has an injury somewhere on his body and we have no idea when he'll play, if ever".
