He did his job. Nothing flashy but most of the time he is also doing roberston's job which is taking 2 blockers
Quiet, very quiet. There hasn't been alot of penetration at all from the dline. Kerry rhoads has been our pass rush. Hard to judge this early.
Ellis has played pretty well. He hasn't gotten the stats (sacks, tackles, etc.) but he has been a disruptive force on many plays that have led to other players getting the stats. Many QB pressures or fighting off the blocks - I think he's doing good.
Is he getting off his blocks or getting any pass rush? I think bobby hamlition has done very good. Do you think hamilton could end up Replacing Ellis if he doesnt step it up and isnt our donamite pass rusher??
When Dewayne Robertson and Kimo Von OLDhoffen are your d-linemates your production is going to go down.
Ellis is fine, but the other guys will need to step up before he can start getting some stats. We still need a true NT.
I like Moore's size and youth, but what we really need is the 2nd coming of Ted Washington. We're 2-1 and all, but watching the DL has been downright painful...
You're right about that. If Robertson were commanding a double, or playing the two gaps, I think Ellis would be flashing more. He's been solid though. More importantly, he's buying into Mangini's system and not griping about the dearth of chances to flat-out rush the QB. Oh, and he hasn't been hurt (knock on wood).
