i didn't see the game but mostly going off the stats and few highlights Petty was picked off twice, fumbled and got destroyed on a hit- was it as bad as it looked (overall play?) Burris got a pick and 2 passes deflected...was he as good as the stat line showed? Anderson, Peake, Middleton all got PT...how did the new wave of Jets looked?
Burris was terrible, beaten like a drum all night, his int was underthrown, he was beaten and it would have been another td if thrown correctly
the Oline once again tried to get Petty killed. Petty was for the most part running for his life all night. Kid is tough. Secondary was its usual inept self. Revis was a no show but on the field. Powell was a gamer. At least he showed up. Not sure who left first.. Woody or the secondary. That pretty much sums it up.. I'll leave you with this: pray for Petty. I don't he's gonna survive his audition.
Anyone even Shitz could have picked that secondary apart, guys were wide open all night...Calvin Pryor is the worst safety in the nfl and David Harris is a disgrace In coverage...
WOW - my bad, I didn't even realize Pryor was on the field, thought he was hurt. David Harris has been a good Jet for a long time. He is not a coverage LB. He could barely cover when he was young, now it is just impossible for him. Harris and Mangold both deserve better than to be associated with this crap.
Shell is horrible, he was horrible in training camp, don't know why he is on the team, except that he's related to Art Shell
I thought Petty played better but need more experience and the OL is just terrible. How many times did you see unblocked people coming free and hitting Petty... of course part of that is QB responsibility to call the right adjustments but you have a perfect storm here... you inexperienced QB, little to no reps with 1st team or WR, very poor CS and well you have this shit....
Our OL was dreadful. Enunwa had a few nice grabs, Powell had a good game, Robbie caught a TD. Leo was the only one who looked great on defense, Burris was getting beat all night and his INT was an underthrown ball.
Beaten like a drum all night? The TD was the only big play he gave up, he's been great in his first 2 games other than the one rookie mistake. Also, people don't want to hear this but Shell was really good. PFF had him at 0 pressures allowed in 55 pass block snaps. Actually, the OL in general was pretty good last night when they all knew their assignments. The only time it broke down was when they allowed free runners. I won't point fingers because for some reason Petty has a coalition of people here that thinks he's a franchise QB without any evidence, but notice that the free blitzers stopped when a veteran QB came in. The veterans (Harris, Marshall, Revis, Mo/Sheldon), Petty and special teams were the problem last night. It was a decent showing from the young guys. Leo and Jenkins had good games too.
Also, has everyone seen the Sheldon video from pregame last night? Fuck that guy with a 10 foot poll. I'd trade him for a 6th at this point. Douchebag.
Burris was 2 steps behind all night, gave up a long td and would have given up another exceppt the pass was 10 yards underthrown, he was beaten by 5 yards...he wasn't alone the whole secondary sucked especially Calvin Pryor
Bilal Powell deserves alot of credit, he's been wasted for 6 years here kids a player and never quits
