I entirely missed it (damn it -_- for some personal [...] reasons. Can you guys tell me how the first D looked like? How did Jenkins do in the middle? How about Pace? Did CB2 commit anything stupid?
They looked good. Run D was better than memory serves and the pass D was good as well. Not many huge complaints, other than it could be a top 10 D with Bob Sutton gone.
I thought the defense looked like shit. guys runnin up the gut, like always. a lot of long runs, and missed tackles.
The porous run D from last year raises it's ugly head. The Jets can't seem to shut down any running backs. We gave up too many long runs tonight.
Broadway Brett is right. The defense improved significantly tonight from last week. Chicken Little, you can go back to the valium bar now, and try to get some sleep.
yeah the run d looked better than it did last week, but it was still sub par at best. needs to improve by start of season.
The defense was bad, but better than last week. It's like our guys have never seen a runningback. I can't even remember how many 16+ yard runs were busted against us. If this shit keeps up be prepared for a MAJOR upset game 1 when Ricky Williams carves up our D.
Our defense looked good? What are you people looking at? Those statements are laughable, or should i say, "cryable".
The first team did look good. As soon as they were out things fell to hell in a hurry. Watch the game again and try to notice who's in there while the Skins are tearing up huge chunks of yardage.
I was at the game and the D Line looked suspect at best. Way too many easy runs up the middle of our D. The D also needs to start wrapping up as way too many missed and broken tackles.
Man, we allow 13 points all game, most of which with the backups in, and we're killing the defense. It wasn't great, but it was better than before, which is all I want to see right now.
Not killing them but they didn't look very good. The skins are hardly an explosive offense especially without Portis playing. I thought they did some good things but that soft middle of our line will hurt us dearly against strong running teams. I think they'll begin to gel over time.
The 1st-team defense looked fine. Not great, but fine. They showed improvement, and when you add this many new guys to the mix, it takes time. The 1st-team guys account for 90% of the snaps, so I'm not very worried about the backups.
Just curious but what D-line were you people watching. Every time I was watching the 1st team, Jenkins had 2 guys occupied, 2 cones playing next to him will be fine if that continues. David Harris, yeah you know the guy in his first game back after his first week of actual practice, will be golden in this scenario. Shit look at Barton he is actually free to make big plays. Just imagine Harris when he gets into the swing of things. The 2 "big" runs the Redskins got on the 1st team was from over pursuit. That is not a big deal and easily rectified in say a .................Fucking preseason game. Other than that the 1st team was fine.
really? i do not agree at all. the run defense looked very similar to the same old same old we've had for a few years now...
