He's no superstar but he can change games from the #3-#4 wr/special teams spots. I think he can be a poor man's Desean Jackson and he played for Sparano in Miami. The 49ers are deep at wr he could be available.
Hell no - this guy sucks. If he got cut I wouldn't mind bringing him in as a special teams guy and depth at WR, but I'd never trade for him.
He's a good player. He's a better special teams player than Turner, he's better than Schilens he could help. Ginn also has starting experience so if something happens with Holmes he could start no problem. I can't believe the Jets didn't sign him back in March.
He's good on special teams, not as a receiver. You don't trade for special teams players unless you're talking about a 7th round pick for a very good kicker.
#1 Holmes #2 Hill #3 Kerley #4 White/Turner. Don't think Ted Ginn Jr is good enough to take #4 slot (especially after missing most of training camp with Jets). How much should a team really give up for a #4 WR anyway? Would rather spend the 6/7 round pick on a young project who can still be coached up. Ted Ginn Jr is a nice player on the special teams but considering how this Jets team is built, Ted Ginn Jr isn't the best use of a late rounder. If Jets trade a late rounder now it better be for a punter or RT because they wanna sign him to contract before he's cut and available to everyone else. Also, Jets usually manage good special teams under Westhoff. Give Westhoff a chance to put it together again this season.
A 4th or 5th round pick. The Jets need playmakers Ginn can make plays. McKnight is a great returner too but I think he's on the bubble with Ginn I think they could kill two birds with one stone they'd get an ace returner plus a deep threat/veteran wr for the inexperienced wr corp. His experience in Sparano's system means he could make an impact right away.
it is a horrible idea to give up that level of a pick for a guy who has a very good chance of being cut.
This is the kind of ability Ginn would bring to the Jets wr corp. He can play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dRz9WCgXRU
congratulations you posted a video of the extremely small sample of plays that Tedd Ginn has actually made in his career. By the way, those same Sparano led Dolphins traded his ass 2 years ago, because they realized he is a horrible receiver. He has no shot of being more of a playmaker on offense than Stephen Hill will be for us. And frankly Hill has the potential to be fantastic, Ginn doesn't, so I would rather keep Hill on the field. Also for comparisons purpose Louis Murphy was traded to Carolina for a 7th round pick right before the start of camp. Murphy's career stat line - 90 Receptions, 1,371 Yards, 15.22 YPC, 6 tds. 3 years in the NFL meaning an average of 30 receptions a season Ted Ginn Jr's career stat line - 159 receptions, 2,047 yards, 12.87 YPC, 6 tds, 5 years in the NFL meaning an average of 31.8 receptions a season. Why the hell would you trade a more important pick for a guy with essentially the same production (but less explosive plays) who is older? Ted Ginn is not worth trading for. He makes 1 long reception a season, and has 2 of his 4 career return touchdowns came in one game against the Jets. I actually think the other two came in one game as well right after he got to San Francisco, but I'm not sure. Just because you can find a highlight video doesn't mean he is worth trading for. If he is cut, maybe we should talk, but until then why bother? He's not good enough to give up a prospect.
This, and there will be some decent WR's that get cut. Hell everyone's favorite Braylon might not make it in Seattle (although recent news for him has been more positive)
Ginn & McKnight are not interchangeable players. Ginn would be a bottom of the depth chart WR when not returning kicks. McKnight would be #2 RB and the preferred choice on 3rd downs. If the Jets were to acquire another RB that can rotate w/ Greene then your Ginn vs. McKnight comparison would be more valid.
Ted Ginn blows. He is not even a very good returner, he just gives you one kickoff return td every once in a while that makes the highlight reels. The rest of the time he is running out of bounds at the 20. As a receiver, he is terrible
He sucks? You do realize the beat Darrelle Revis, right? One of the few receivers who ever burned Revis Island for a touchdown.
