While Keller, LT, Burress and Holmes have looked excellent catching the ball, its pretty obvious that we really have no other legit depth at reciever.

Mason has been virtually non existent, even though we have thrown the ball a ton.

Its obvious that we want to throw the ball a LOT more, yet we only have 2 competent wide receivers, if Burress or Holmes ever go down even if for just a few games this offense is going to have huge problems especially with how poor our run game is.

Not really sure what options are out there other than T.O or Moss, but if were going to continue to be pass first team itd be quite nice for us to be proactive here.

Mason isn't getting the ball because he's still new to the offense. Blame the lockout.

If he had to play he'd probably do well. He's Derrick Mason.

    He just caught a pass.

And how many teams are 3 or 4 deep at WR?

The Jets have a lot of weapons

Im not even talking being deep at wr, but seriously id like to have better options than Pat Turner out there.

Fact is were a pass first offense now whether we like it or not. Plax is just as new to the offense as Mason, theyre both old school vets I see no reason why Plax can be out there almost every play and Mason has 30 somewhat yards through 2.5 games.

Not to mention other than Holmes all of our options @ WR are either old, VERY old or incredibly inexperienced.

Look at the Chargers who are a pass first team and how deep are they at WR? Not very extraordinary and they do work.

And Turner is our #5 WR? And is just there to be a great blocker and receive on off occasions.

Once our WRs like Plax, Kerley, and Mason adjust to the offense will look even better than we have thus far, which is great.

we don't need any WR's. we just need more time to develop chemistry.

Turner, Kerley, and Mason have a combined whopping 4 receptions this season.

I dunno how theyre supposed to build much chemistry like that.

On a side note what happened w/ Cumberlands injury ?

If hes out a significant period of time thatll hurt especially with how incompetent mulligans looked this year

Dont get your panties in a wad. It's only game 3 after the lockout. Our offense has new pieces and it will take time for them to get on the same page.

I'm sure no one here thinks Mason was an upgrade over Cotchery.

    Mason just saved the drive.

    Patience is a virtue.

Sanchez is getting murdered out there.

Sure he made a few bad throws, but the oline is getting him killed.

we are good for this year...but in 2012. The greatest WR free agent class hits the market.

We need someone to add to Holmes

it's the same story as in most of his bad games, he throws a horrendous pick then gets trigger shy. i guess its preferable to a 5 int performance but hes double clutching all over the place and getting a ton of balls batted down at the line

To TO or not to TO?

    Sign the beast.

While we are at it we should beg Damian Woody to come back for the rest of the year.
