FB Mughelli likely gone from Ravens
    Written by: ? 3/1/2007

Barring some last minute negotiations, fullback Ovie Mughelli is expected to become an unrestricted free agent. Mughelli said Monday that he was unaware of any offers from the Ravens. Mughelli is in a strange position because some teams value fullbacks, and others don't. The Ravens need one in their offense, but apparently feel Mughelli won't command much on the open market.

Young FB, great blocker. I'd love to get this guy on our team.

I would love this guy as well. The only problem is that he is one dimensional, but we don't use the FB in our current offense anyway.

Jets definitely need a great blocking FB, Mughelli would be a great signing.

He's a great blocker and the best FB available, so he'd be a great pickup and prevent us from having to take a FB in the draft.

i wouldnt have a problem with it at all. we would finally have a guy who wants to block instead of a guy that has to block but always dreamed of running the ball. makes me think did that guy really miss that block!!!!! hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

If I were the Jets I'd make him one of the priorities. He would command a ton of money, and he's not really at a premier position, but he'd have a huge impact on the Jets offense immediately. Sign him up.

We need a big time lead blocker, and Mughelli has always been that...solid under the radar player...

Schott and Mangini want that big lead blocker for the power running game and clearly our combo of Askew/Ryan wasn't working well enough.

i think we'll sign him, theyve been looking for a lead blocker since they stupidly let sowell go.

and with askews release, totally not using him in the passing game. it all adds up.

I'd prefer Justin Griffith and LeRon McClain, but I'm up for a dominant blocking back on the Jets.

    Obi Oluigbo

    Remember that Name.
3 years ago when Everyone was Givin Quinn a Handjob I mentioned Troy Smith and people were like Blah Blah.

    Obi Oluigbo
    Remember the name @ FB.
Only Problem is that he Is a Project because of Lack of Playing time but as a Lead Blocker, he is legit.

He's also a VG Special Teamer...He may be the Next Sowell (uh - Oh) But a Much better Blocker.

AFA Askew, He isn't being given a Chance. The Guy is a Stud and Last year made some Incredible blocks.
Some of you guys don't record the games and rewatch them but If anyone paid attention, Askew is a Big Time player@ FB

I do, and respectfully disagree. He's okay, but nothing special. But to each his own....

I don't agree with the assessment of Askew and I don't think a big priced fullback is ever worth the money. Lorenzo Neal's contract sets a precedent for younger guys to take big money at a very low end position. Lorenzo Neal, who is so critical to the running game that he has been on six teams throughout his career. Obviously, we need an upgrade, but you don't spend money on fullbacks.
