Its amazed me watching the pats last few weeks how few teams have tried to jam the TE to throw this NE offense off sync. I know teams tend to focus on doing this with the Wr but for me the NE offense is all about the TE's. If they establish an out ball early on that opens it up for Welker etc. I would like to see us right up on line of scrimmage daring them to beat us deep, as I would back Revis against Branch or Tate all game. Stop the crossing patterns and load the middle as its a death by a thousand cuts otherwise. You know it makes sense..sort of!!
This has been the Pats mandate for the last few seasons, timing patterns. Couldn't agree more, press coverage and exotic blitz schemes will get the job done. Still the same team we walloped at home. I want to see Eric Smith pound the shit out of Woodhead on one of those little dump passes that they've been doing too.
This is key to this game and will slow down the Bradybunch if we can stop them getting into rhythm. My concern here is that we need to get some pass rush to knock golden boy about and it will be how well we send our guys without exposing our middle that could have a huge bearing on this game. I expect a really tight game which will suit us, I don't want to be chasing early after giving up a couple of scores.
I agree, jam everyone at the line. Gotta disrupt that rhythm. However, I ahve this feeling they are going to run a lot of no back sets with the TEs in the backfield.
that's what I'm thinking too. Revis is a lot stronger and more physical than most corners, so he can handle it. Cro, I'm not so sure of. Come to think of it actually, Cro isn't a fantastic matchup for any of their options outside of maybe Branch. He seems to specialize in shutting down tall, athletic receivers running streaks and deep routes, not so much quick receivers running slants and short drops.
I would prefer to see Dig cover some TE packages, in the shorter routes he would be fine. Sick of seeing Leonard, Pool and Wilson bouncing off TEs.
lol, Hernandez: 6'1" 245 Gronk: 6'6" 265 Crumpler: 6'2" 275 The LBs are all the size of the Pats smallest TE who actually plays more like a WR. And please put the 5'11" 200 lbs Revis on a TE. It would be awesome watching him try to tackle Gronk.
covering TE's has been a big problem this yr hopefully rex can cook something up this week to address this
you do realize that if Brady sees Revis trying to cover Gronk, he's going to audible for a strong side run and Gronk will get to level Revis. And on passing plays, Gronk just has to shield Revis from the inside which is easy because size does matter.
You sound like a woman. When you are performing oral do you prefer length or width? Andre Johnson Calvin Johnson Vincent Jackson Instead of the trolls we are now getting the mentally challenged Pats fans......joy.
really, well then "this woman" actually knows more about football than you. Its a comment about Revis covering a TE and you go and list 3 wide receivers. seriously, does your lady explain the game while its happening in small words so that you can understand since your really don't seem to know the positions too well.
which is why Leonard Pope 6'8 is the recieving threat he is today. just saying size does not make up for this much of a gap in talent.
3 big receivers idiot but you are absolutely too stupid to follow any kind of logic like that. You know jack shit about football. Now go play in the shallow end of the gene pool.
