Interesting that the Chiefs took a beating at the hands of Cinci today 23-10 and the Jets got a gritty win. Is it going to be yet another slow start for opne of Herm's teams? Did he lead another easy training camp versus Mangini's grueling one? Also looks like his QB may be done for a while.

Before we get carried away, it's worth pointing out that the Jets beat an awful Tennessee team and the Chiefs lost to a super bowl contending Cincinatti squad.

No, actually if you look deeper. Its how the Jets won, and how the Chiefs lost.

The 3rd and 4th quarters did feel like a Herm game, and alot of these games under Herm we did manage to squeek out at the end. The gutsy offensive playcalling is what really set it apart from the Herm Jets.

Exactly... and Eric Mangini had nothing to do with the play calling ( just like Herm)

I love this quote. This is exactly what Barrett and Law did last year too.

Not 100% true in both cases.

Yes, Schottenheimer and Heimerdinger/Hackett called the plays on gameday, but you can rest assured of 2 things:

    1) Head Coach has veto power if he chooses to use it.

    2) Head coach tells his coaches during the week how he'd like to play it.
