I would like to get some feedback from the rest of the group here. I'm giddy at the possibility of signing this guy. He is almost guaranteed to hit the market in March at the age of 25. He has produced every year he has played, between 4500 -5000 yards in 5 seasons. He has missed 10-12 games in there too, which is a bit of a catch 22 when looking at the numbers.

I think this is the big body WR that we always talk about but never seem to get. He is young, productive and available (almost).

I don't see a ton of buzz about him here and was curious if I am missing something.

He'd be a good replacement for Santonio Holmes if the Jets are looking for another space cadet malcontent who quits on his team.

Please no. Guy simply can't stay healthy. 0 TD's this year. I don't care how bad Eli was this year, 0 TD's is pathetic especially for a "big bodied WR". Why do you think the Giants paid Cruz but no Nicks? Some stupid team will throw big money at him. I really hope it's not the Jets. I would be surprised if he's even on Idzik's radar.

I love the guy when is healthy but he isnt right for us at this point. We need stability at the receiver spot. Not a guy who might only play 8-10 games.

I wanted him up until the last month or so. I'd much rather go after Golden Tate at this point.

He has missed 11 games in 5 years. Not a guy who is out for significant periods of time year over year.

What is the part about him quitting on his team? This is something that I am not aware of, is this popular opinion that has become 'fact' or are there some sources articles that talk about his lack of professionalism/drive

He was terrible this year. Automatically would be our go to guy but that's not saying much.

One of the most interesting FA's definitely, all the physical ability in the world and his hands are probably the biggest of any WR in the NFL yet he underperforms. He's known to lack focus and drop a few balls and can disappear at times from a game. I would only give him a 2 yr deal max with the option to cut him after next season and only at a good price. I see him as a player with no heart and no desire to be a superstar I would really try to stay away from Nicks.

I feel like any thoughts on him go wayward when theres a WR of that same Caliber in Jeremy Maclin, who will likely accept a much more easy to digest "show-me" contract than Nicks would. Then theres that Morhinweg connection...

He might not miss a ton of time, but his play often suffers once he does get injured, even though he tends to play through it.

I believe the questions about his work ethic were brought up by Carl Banks and others but I could be mis-remembering. I think he also no-showed some OTA's or something else that agitated Tom Coughlin.

He ran a lot of lazy routes this year. Then again Eli was absolute trash throwing the ball so it's hard to ascertain how much at fault he is for his poor production.

He probably can be had for cheap. I'd bring him in. If we can get him and Maclin as well as drafting one of Evans/Watkins/Lee I think we'd be set.

He seemed to have lost something this season. His speed and ability to get separation was pretty much gone.

Still a solid receiver but he might not be what he once was.

His play certainly dropped off BUT his body language screamed change of scenery... Unfortunately i dont think switching NY teams is a big enough change.

Watch him go to SF and light it up!

Players get hurt every year anyone can get hurt at any time in the nfl. So him being hurt shouldnt be a reason not to look in to him for example thomas davis he was getting hurt year after year but when healthy he comes and plays.. Any number 1 reciever would be a upgrade for us. Nicks is still young and very talented.

    No thanks.

Give me Golden Tate, a guy who is rarely hurt and wants to be a star. He thrives off the spotlight, lets give him the stage.

Guys Nicks is similar to Holmes when it comes to charecter,we don't need another guy at WR who plays with no heart and takes downs off.I'll pass we can do much better then Nicks who hasn't caught a TD pass since December of 2012 but yea let's bring him in

The guy had a horrible year in a mess of an offense and still had over 900 yds. I would definitely give him a long hard look. I wouldn't give him big bucks but I'm not sure anyone would at this point. He is one of many likely available WRs that would be a huge upgrade.
